Tommee Tippee Explora Truly Spill Proof Sippy Cup

The Tommee Tippee Explora cup range is progressively staged to help children transition through all their drinking phases and needs with specific grips to fit little fingers and unique spouts to meet the needs of every age and support natural oral development.

The Truly Spill Proof cups are unlike any other valve system on the market. The active sensor valve is designed by a physicist to be sensitive enough that liquid flows on demand, yet truly spill and leak proof and BPA and Phthalate free!

Does it leak? Not a chance. Tommee Tippee has the valve, and leak proofness down to a science. Just for poos and giggles I even dropped this off our second story deck. The cup stayed intact and there was not a drop of water on the black blanket I dropped it on! However this cup will leak if the valve is not installed correctly!

Does it keep the drink cold? This cup is not insulated so only keeps drinks cold for about an hour.

Does it fit in a cup holder/my child’s hands? The cup is super easy for my one year old to tote around with him because of the side grips and it fits perfectly into cup holders!

How many pieces to make the cup work? Hard or soft top? There are four  pieces to this cup- the lid,  actual cup and two piece valve. The spout is soft however my kids are so focused on opening and closing the lid- they don’t chew these cups at all.

Mom’s favorite feature? I have two features of this cup I love!

  1. The Lid Cover- I love that the ‘cap’ it attached to this cup! It keeps the are my little one is drinking from clean and germ free!
  2. The Side Grips- Sippy cups are hard to hold, especially when they sweat! The grips on both sides of the Tommee Tippee Explora Truly Spill Proof Sippy Cup allow my little one to tote it around all afternoon- with it ending up on the ground less often than other cups!

Does my child like it? There honestly isn’t anything done to this cup to attract kids. No special effects, no cartoon characters- yet every time any of my kids use this cup they spend more time playing with the lid then drinking! A sippy cup and entertainment? Fine by this mom!

How much are they? The Tommee Tippee Explora Truly Spill Proof Sippy Cup is sold at various retailers. Every store I saw them at had them listed for 7.99!

  • Babies R Us- $7.99
  • Target- $7.99

Any downsides? The four pieces sometimes get misplaced, especially the valves. Thankfully I found replacement valves for 3.99 at Babies R Us and to be honest we use sippy cups so often in our house it is good to change the valves occasionally.

Specs: Cup is dishwasher and microwave save. Best use is for kids 9+ months. Cup holds 11oz.

  1. Looks like a great sippy cup… when our new gets to the point of needing a sippy; I’m definitely gonna have to make the investment. Thanks for the great giveaway.

  2. OOps that should read thanks for all of your great giveaways… perhaps this one will make that list sometime too 🙂

  3. Leak proof and BPA free has my vote, plus we love Tommee Tippee bottles here.

  4. We have the version of those that’s for older kids & we love them! I love that they’re 4 pcs. because I feel like I can get them much cleaner than other cups. But I could totally see losing pieces!

  5. Sippy cups have to be one of the smartest inventions ever.

  6. Such an awesome idea! Because yeah, regular sippy cups DO leak–so cool that these don’t!

  7. This is one brand of Sippy cup I haven’t tried but after reading this I will definately be going over to check them out. My daughter’s birthday is coming next month. Thanks!

  8. Beware of these cups, they hold the smell of what ever you put in them. I have many sippy cups, even passed down (used) ones that do not hold scents of beverages in them.
They are great looking, but really not worth the extra money.
