My family and I try to camping at least twice a year. This year we were in the market for a new tent and I needed one that set up really fast but was still high quality! Lightspeed tents are known for their super fast set up, so I was ecstatic when they agreed to send us a tent to try out this year.
The Base Camp series is the most spacious tent in the Lightspeed tent lineup, so it was perfect for our large family. The tent features the Lightspeed integrated pole system, which means the poles are built in to the tent, eliminating the difficulty associated with traditional separate pole tents. The revolutionary hub allows the tent to be set up super fast!

Set up is super easy. You simply unfold the poles with the central hub upright, extend all the poles and lock all 5 joints together. Then reach into the bottom of the tent push up on the hub and pull down on the drawstring! The entire tent pops into shape and is ready to go!
The rainfly is a separate piece that attaches over the poles. There are large mesh windows on each side that make the tent super breathable, but the rainfly is needed for overnight use. Unfortunately for us, no matter how hard we tried we were not able to get the rainfly on the tent. The instructions left much to be desired and the video on Lightspeed’s site doesn’t show the rainfly on the tent at all.
