There is nothing worse than having an itchy, stinky cast that you have to keep on for weeks or even months. Casts become itchy and smelly because of the bacteria growing in the continually-moist lining beneath your cast. This moisture is most commonly due to perspiration trapped in the cast lining but may also result from bathing or normal outdoor activities. As soon as I found out I had to have surgery on my ankle I started looking for products to make recovery easier and I stumbled upon the CastCooler!
The CastCooler helps keep your cast fresh and reduces itch by removing moisture from the lining under your cast. All you have to do is wrap the CastCooler around your cast, and connect a standard household vacuum, it is so easy you could even do it with one hand if your hand was what was broken. CastCooler creates a gentle vacuum on the outside of your cast, bringing fresh air between your skin and the cast- it is literally instant relief. Feels like putting ice on a burn. Air flow is directed through the lining of your breathable orthopedic cast removing moisture and cooling your skin. After 10 minutes, moisture is removed. Without moisture, bacteria growth (the cause of odor and itch) is reduced.
The CastCooler can be used with any common household vacuum that has a hose! The CastCooler works with all breathable orthopedic casts no matter size or limb, one size fits all! The CastCooler can be used as often as you like, it cannot be overused. Whenever your cast is moist, hot or stinky…use it.

What a great idea! I’ve never had a cast, nor have my kids (knock on wood), but I’ll have to keep this in mind in case something terrible happens!
This is such a good idea! I had friends who really suffered after the worst was past on breaking something, but having to wear a stuffy, itchy cast…I am glad to know of this, it sounds great!
Wow! I wish I would have had this a couple of years ago when I broke my arm *very* badly and had to have major surgery on it! Yucko, that was gross!
This is such a good idea. I wish this existed when I was a child.
Amazing!! I still remember the discomfort from my own cast – just wow!
I love this! I can’t believe it has taken so long to come up with something that seems so simple! I Definitely needed this as a kid!
When I was younger I fractured my foot. This would have been so great to have to keep my foot more comfortable. I think this is such a great idea and using the vacuum makes it much more convenient.
Seems like a good product that functions well. Knock on wood though, accidents are best prevented!
Wow what a great idea!! I could have used this when I was a kid and broke BOTH of my wrists at the same time. What a nightmare for an 8yr old and my poor mother!
how neat, my first glance I thought that was yarn, hope I never have to use one, but if I did that would be nice
What a great idea! I haven’t worn a cast since I was a kid but I remeber it being so miserable.
my daughter could have used this during the summer when she ended up with two broken wrists
thats really neat, good to know if I ever need it!
This is just the coolest thing ever! The things people invent is endless, and this is a good one. Good to know. 🙂
WOW! This sounds amazing! I will have to keep this in mind if I ever need a cast!

Wow, now isn’t that the neatest thing ever! I have never heard of such a thing, but it sounds amazing! I have personally never broken any bones nor worn a cast, but I know of many people who have and they complain about the same thing.. itchy and stinky..
