CastCoverz: CastCooler

There is nothing worse than having an itchy, stinky cast that you have to keep on for weeks or even months. Casts become itchy and smelly because of the bacteria growing in the continually-moist lining beneath your cast. This moisture is most commonly due to perspiration trapped in the cast lining but may also result from bathing or normal outdoor activities.  As soon as I found out I had to have surgery on my ankle I started looking for products to make recovery easier and I stumbled upon the CastCooler!

The CastCooler helps keep your cast fresh and reduces itch by removing moisture from the lining under your cast.  All you have to do is  wrap the CastCooler around your cast, and connect a standard household vacuum, it is so easy you could even do it with one hand if your hand was what was broken. CastCooler creates a gentle vacuum on the outside of your cast, bringing fresh air between your skin and the cast- it is literally instant relief. Feels like putting ice on a burn. Air flow is directed through the lining of your breathable orthopedic cast removing moisture and cooling your skin. After 10 minutes, moisture is removed. Without moisture, bacteria growth (the cause of odor and itch) is reduced.

The CastCooler can be used with any common household vacuum that has a hose! The CastCooler works with all breathable orthopedic casts no matter size or limb, one size fits all! The CastCooler can be used as often as you like, it cannot be overused. Whenever your cast is moist, hot or stinky…use it.
