Whenever there’s a trend in any area, there’s a chance that it’s been a trend in the past. Many of the trends in fashion, products, vehicles, and other areas are simply coming back from previous trends in the past. This can be a good thing in certain cases, while it may not be that attractive in others. Here are a few potential trends that have come back from the past.
Bell Bottoms: In the 1970′s, it was fashionable to wear bell bottom pants. These are pants that look normal at the top and flair out at the bottom by the ankles. This created a unique look that was a staple of that era. After those went out of style, it was largely assumed that they were gone for good. However, in the 1990′s and the 2000′s, this type of style came back. While no one refers to them as bell bottoms anymore, there are definitely a number of styles out there that mimic this look. Many jeans have a much baggier look at the bottom and they flair out, while still being tight near the top.
RV’s: Several years ago, there was a Winnebago Era that made it impossible to go very far without seeing a Winnebago on the roads. These RV’s were very popular, and many families had them. Recently, the Winnebago has made a bit of a come back. You can see these types of RV’s in campgrounds, driving down the road, and in driveways. These RV’s are popular again, and they are becoming a staple in the industry.
Denim Jackets: In the 1980′s, denim jackets were very popular, and everyone had one. They were pretty versatile and could be worn in a number of different settings and environments. It was not uncommon to see them in rock videos, fashion magazines, and on all of your friends. Recently, denim jackets have started to come back in a big way. They come in many different styles, and they do not look exactly the same as they once did. While white washdenim was once very popular, different styles of denim are becoming more popular now.
Precious Metals: Even the investment world is seeing some trends come full circle. In the past, there were a lot of people who preferred to hold precious metals like gold and silver instead of paper currency. When the U.S. moved away from the gold standard, this went by the wayside. Now with the financial turmoil in the economy, a lot of people are calling for a return to the gold standard. Many people are holding precious metals in their portfolios because of the returns that they have provided in recent years. Thanks to voices like Ron Paul, the idea of the gold standard has become cool again.
While many styles disappear and never come back, a few select trends make their way back into the mainstream. Before you dismiss something for good, consider whether it could make a comeback.

Funny how sometimes the way to bring things back is to rename them, like how bell-bottoms of old are now boot-cut jeans.
That winnebago brought back memories.Back then they were used for vacations and now sadly they’re being used as homes. It’s sad how bad the lack of jobs and people losing their homes and having to live in cars and motorhomes.
It is pretty amazing how many things come back into style. If you think about it, another thing that has become more popular is stay-at-home-moms. They were, of course, everywhere before the 60′s and then women started burning their bras and demanding equal rights so, I think, many were kind of “afraid” to carry that badge (of honor in my opinion). I’m glad that THIS is coming back. And — as far as jeans, lol — I love my boot cut jeans and they’re definitely the bell bottom style!!
it’s a shame that we didn’t hold on to some of the things we had back then
They all come, with maybe a little something different or a different name.
I love looking back at my baby and child pictures from the 70s just to see what people wore, how they decorated, the car they drove, etc – it’s like a time capsule!
I seriously hope bell bottoms never come back! haha Although the Winnebago was pretty awesome! =)
I am always impressed and/or shocked when certain things come back into style. I am hoping that big hair will not be one of them.
It is so true, it seems like all fashions eventually come back around
Gotta love those bell bottoms
I loved bell bottoms!
