2013 Scion FR-S

Think just because you have kids a sports car is out of the question? Think again! The Scion FR-S is an attractive, front-engine, rear-wheel-drive, practical sports coupe that comfortably fits two extra large car seats in the back!  And with a starting price of $25,355.00, it’s affordable too!

Scion FR-S

The interior of the car aims to please. The two front seats look very sporty with red stitching and sides. They don’t have as many ways to adjust as I’d like, but myself (5′ 4″ ) and my husband (“6′ 0”) were both able to get comfortable enough in the drivers seat.  The easy to use air dials make adjusting the temperature easy and the simple radio has no learning curve, however I really would have liked to see a touch screen instead of the much older technology being used. None the less, the interior dash flows very well and the drivers console is easy to read.

The trunk is pretty big for a sports car. Without the seats folded down I could fit a large single stroller into the trunk with no issue at all. You could not fit a double in the FR-S, unless it was a double umbrella stroller. Two weeks worth of groceries fit just fine as well.

Scion FR-S TrunkThe back seat is plenty big enough for two car seats, even two large Britax Frontiers would fit! Most two door vehicles are pretty hard to get kids in and out of, however the FR-S seats slide forward very easily and make getting kids in and out a breeze! You would have a harder time getting kids in and out if they were rear facing, but it is more than do able.

2013 Scion FR-S

The Scion FR-S  has a 13.2 gallon tank and boasts an EPA rated 22 MPG city and 30 MPG highway. On my week long test drive I got 25.5 MPG which is stellar for a sports car.

Scion FR-S

I drove the FR-S and only the FR-S the entire week I had it. I never had an issue with lack of space and always had plenty of room during the day inside it for me and my two youngest to be out and about all day!

Special thanks to Scion for letting me test drive the FR-S for a week.

These are beautiful! I have seen them driving around, but would have never guessed that they were so affordable. I used to have a Chrysler Crossfire and I miss it. When I am ready for a new car, I may have to check these out.

  2. Oh heck yes, I can see myself in one of these. I didn’t realize the price was as low as you’ve stated. Hmmm ….

    Great review!

This is a nice-looking car. It must be larger than it would seem at first glance, but if 6 foot tall DH had no trouble getting in and out, it’s spacious enough. And 2 weeks of groceries and stroller in the trunk? That IS bigger than it looks. I would consider this, if I was in the market for a new car.

Super cute! And it looks like it has more backseat room than my PT Cruiser 2 door.

  5. OMG! THe interior of this is absolutely amazing! I totally want one.

  6. I didn’t know Scion made cars as well as their XB line. This is a real beauty!

What a gorgeous car that I would love to own. The color is such a nice dark blue and there is plenty of room in this car for the family. I like the interior and the price is not too expensive for this nice of a car.

  16. Beautiful car, would be fun driving especially as a convertible. 🙂

I love the blue color. I wish more cars would have a blue or green paint color. It’s great that the controls are easy to use and the ample trunk space.
