2013 Kia Sportage

If you are looking for a crossover that is distinctive looking, boasts good fuel economy is fun to drive, can fit two extra large car seats and a huge double stroller, than the 2012 Kia Sportage may be the crossover for you!

2013 Kia Sportage

The Sportage gets a whopping 27 highway miles per gallon which is super high for a crossover. You will get around 20 if all your driving is city. During my test drive I got 24 miles per gallon which allowed me to use only a half a tank during my one week test drive, in which I used the Sportage and only the Sportage to run all my errands!

The Sportage ranks 6 out of 21 when it comes to Affordable Compact SUVs but the interior feature make you feel like you are driving one of the most expensive ones. Features I have come to love like rear-camera display, voice-command navigation, steering wheel mounted controls, push button start, auto dimming mirrors and cooling glove box make this crossover sensible for a mom to drive!

2013 Kia Sportage

I really enjoyed cruising around in the Sportage. The 176 horsepower engine really gets up and goes when you  need it to. But it also is a super safe vehicle! It features standard stability control, six airbags (front, front side, full-length side curtain), four-wheel antilock disc brakes and active front head restraints. It was a standout in government crash testing, scoring a perfect five stars overall in both front and side impacts. Likewise, the independent Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the Sportage its highest rating of “Good” in all categories.

Space of course is very important to me. I was not able to fit three across in the Sportage, but I was able to fit two huge seats in the back seat with easy! Both kids had plenty of foot room and because the vehicle is higher off the ground than the car I am used to driving getting them in and out of their seats was so easy!

The trunk of the Sportage is huge! With the rear seat up the Sportage features 26.1 cu ft of space and if you need more room the second row folds down to give you a whopping 54.6 cu ft!

We had a KIA a while back – it looked really smail, but my 6 foot tall SO had no trouble at all getting in or out. And you really can’t beat the mileage! But I’m most impressed by the safety features!
