2013 Cadillac XTS

Disclosure: Cadillac let me test drive a 2013 XTS for a week!

If modern technology, top of the line safety features and an ultra sharp exterior are features your looking for in a Vehicle- than the Cadillac XTS may be the vehicle for you. The all-new 2013 Cadillac XTS luxury sedan is the most technologically advanced car that Cadillac has ever made! It delivers the space, elegance and dramatic presence that are Cadillac signatures, but with entirely new and technically advanced methods tuned for a new generation of luxury customers.

2013 Cadillac XTSSitting in the drivers seat of the XTS is for sure a treat. Above your head no matter where you sit is a sunroof that is about as big as a 48-inch flat-panel television! It spans both rows of seats and offers a view that exceeds high-definition!

2013 Cadillac XTSThe welcome warmth of the heated steering wheel is the perfect antidote for a cold winter morning and the heated and ventilated seats make sure your tushy is comfortable no matter what the weather.

2013 Cadillac XTSHowever, to be honest the XTS is comfortable no matter where you sit! Pressure-mapping technology was used extensively to optimize front-seat comfort, and rear passengers enjoy separate control of the available tri-zone climate system. Each rear window has a manual shade and the rear window has a power shade that keeps sun off of precious cargo in the back seat with out having to add unsafe after market products.

There is plenty of room in the back seat. The seat width is 54.29 inches which is more than enough room for three seats across or three adults in the back seat. There are five lower anchors in the back seat. This means you can LATCH two car seats anywhere in the back seat, including the middle, but the third seat must be installed with a seat belt. Pictured below you will find the Diono Radian RXT and the Britax Pavillion 70-G3!

2013 Cadillac XTSThe XTS’s advanced technology supports a wide range of advanced safety features, based on a “control and alert” strategy that extends the vision around the vehicle. It helps drivers identify potential crash situations and even intervenes when a crash threat appears more imminent, employing visual, audible and tactile (vibration) alerts, depending on the feature.

The alerts are designed to identify obstacles with sufficient warning to give the driver time to react and make changes – including the Safety Alert Seat feature, which vibrates either the left or right side of the driver’s seat cushion, depending on the location of the impending concern. Air bags are a plenty in the XTS, dual-stage frontal air bags, knee air bags, side-impact air bags, head-curtain air bags and seat side-impact air bags for outboard rear passengers keep you cushy in the event of a crash.

2013 Cadillac XTSThe extra large trunk has enough room for anything and everything. I was able to easily store a double stroller in it, with plenty of room left over for groceries!

  1. Wow, this looks like a great, comfortable, luxurious car! I am not sure how I feel about sunroofs but I love that this one spans the front and back seat so the backseat passengers don’t feel left out. I also love how wide it is as I am always on the lookout for a vehicle that will fit 2 carseats and 1 adult in the backseat. I like the separate climate zones too!

  2. That large trunk space is absolutely great, especially if you’re hauling a weeks worth of groceries home or heading off on a road trip with a family of five. It’s great to know that Cadillac is still making high quality, luxurious vehicles!

When Cadillac went smaller I always thought that they would be giving up on some of the classiness. This car show they havent!

  4. Karen Glatt says:

What a nice Cadillac and the black color is so deep and shiny looking. I like this Cadillac for its roominess and for its well made engine. These cars are built strong and for years of driving and touring in. Great car to own.

The Cadillac name just gives you a sense of luxury. This one has a lot of advance features and options, too. Looks comfy and stylish.

I will say, this is a beautiful car. My brother bought one and I was lucky enough to drive it out of the driveway and park it on the street (wee hoo!!) and it was very comfy and quiet. It was also so easy to drive even though I am used to a tiny car (my Beetle Convertible). Maybe someday I’ll have a car this nice.
