When I had Ethan our biggest purchase was a travel system. It was nothing fancy, just a plain stroller, car seat and base. We used the infant car seat for ten months and the stroller for almost two years till we had Carlee and needed a double. This was almost six years ago and to be honest I had no idea how much Graco travel systems had advanced over the years. The Graco Modes Click Connect Travel System claims to have 10 different riding options (I only feel like there are seven modes, which is still a ton- but more on that later) for maximum product versatility and longevity, making it an easy choice for new moms who want to get the most out of their stroller.
The included Graco SnugRide Click Connect 35 Infant Car Seat is perfect for infants from 4 – 35lbs. and up to 32″ long. It is top rated by leading consumer magazines and for sure one of the most popular infant car seats in the US. Baby is always kept comfortable in the SnugRide because of the removable, cushioned infant head support.
The five-point, front-adjusting harness makes getting baby in and out of the car seat a breeze and the Click Connect technology offers a one-step, secure attachment to the included stroller and the LATCH-equipped, stay-in-car base. The base was very light and slim compared to the ones I used six years ago. It only took me 2 minutes to install it in our vehicle.
Now about those different modes!
The SnugRide car seat can be clicked into the Click Connect stroller three ways, making it a very versatile car seat carrier.. Mode One is like many other traditional travel systems, where the car seat clicks into the seat. This is a great way to transport a shy baby because you can completely close both hoods and give them their own space.
Unlike any travel system I have seen before the toddler seat comes off, leaving you with just a frame. This allows the car seat to be removed from the car and attached directly to the stroller frame. The seat can face towards you (mode two) or away from you so baby can enjoy the scenery (mode three).
When baby is still little you can convert the reversible seat into an infant carriage by simply velcroing the foot rest up.
This gives baby a safe, bassinet like area to lay in while you stroll around. This position can be used facing you (mode four) or looking out at the scenery as you go (mode five).
Once your little one is able to sit up on their own the travel system transitions into a toddler stroller designed to hold a child up to 50 lbs. The leg rest adjusts so that you can choose from three positions to comfortably accommodate your “big kid’s” legs and the child’s tray and armrests can be easily removed, so getting your child in and out of the stroller is a breeze.
When used as a toddler stroller the seat can face the world (mode six) or face you (mode seven). Emmitt loves to face mom!
Graco lists Modes eight, nine and ten as stroller with no arm rest, rear facing with foot rest up and forward facing with foot rest up- but to be honest I don’t really feel like those are different “modes” its just using the accessories differently. But seven modes, for one stroller is still phenomenal!
The stroller is much more stable than I expected. Emmitt can crawl in and out with out wobbling at all.
I really love so much about this system. It is literally the only thing you need to travel around with baby. The four cup holders make stashing cups, keys, toys and a cell phone easy and the storage basket is huge!! I was able to fit my purse, a teddy bear, a blanket and a fully packed diaper bag in the basket.
The stroller features a one-hand standing fold with an automatic storage latch and fit in my small crossovers trunk very nicely.

For me, it’s the little conveniences… a coffee cup holder, easy fold up, underneath storage etc. Strollers are changing so much so quickly, it’s absolutely amazing the technology that has gone into them.

I don’t have this exact system but I have a click connect 35 travel system in the Finley pattern. It’s nice and cute but I HATE that it doesn’t latch onto the shopping carts like the classic connect style does. Since there’s no V shaped indent on the bottom of the car seat like the classic connect seats have it doesn’t latch onto the shopping cart. 🙁 horrible feature!!!
It is very unsafe to try to “click” or “latch” your carseat into the top of the shopping cart. They are not made for that and can in fact ruin the locking mechanism of your seat. It is much safer to put baby in the basket with the carseat 🙂

Question for you-in bassinet mode, it claims four different levels of recline. I can hear a click for three levels, with the fourth (completely flat) I can’t be to click. Is yours the same way? Or am I missing something? Thanks!

la tisha i just bought one last wednesday and mine is wobbly and squeaks a bit as well. on the toys r us page some reviews say the samething. so i guess its just the way the stroller is made.
