Disclosure: Our visit was provided in exchange for my honest review of the hotel.
A beach vacation simply isn’t a true beach vacation with out waterfront accommodations. During our stay at the gorgeous Virginia Beach we slept at the Virginia Beach Resort Hotel & Conference Center and loved its close proximity to everything beach related.Featuring 295 bayview suites with amazing views the hotel allows you to get swept away by the spectacular sunrises and sunsets and spend every second possible near the beach! Our two bedroom suite had plenty of room for the six of us with two double beds, a pull out couch and a king size bed. Separate bedroom and living areas allowed us all to spread out. I love the small kitchen area! It allowed us to be able to save some money and eat in a few times, it featured a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and sink. I was able to fit plenty of snacks in the cabinets and the fridge was big enough for a gallon of milk, fruit, cheese and other various snacks.
However my favorite feature was waking up and looking out to this…With a few upgrades, I would give this room a very high rating but it needs those upgrades first. I haven’t watched a tube TV in years, but this room had three very small ones. I noticed after a bit of google searching all the TV’s have been removed from advertising pictures, so the resort already knows this is a problem, perhaps its an update coming soon. A large issue during our stay was keeping our room cool. Maintenance actually ended up with bringing us four box fans to keep the air circulating. There simply aren’t enough air vents in the two bedroom suites to keep them a proper temperature with the sun beating in the windows. The staff was very helpful to us, however having that many fans in our room was loud and dangerous to small fingers. While at the hotel, you are literally just steps from the beach! Outside kids can build sand castles, adults can sunbathe and everyone can stroll along their wide, private beach. After a fun day in the sun, you can then enjoy a bike ride on one of their complimentary bicycles or visit the fully-equipped health club that features weight-training equipment, stationery bikes, treadmills, sauna, whirlpool, HydroSonic Infrasound Relaxation System, and a professional massage service. At night when it was too dark to visit the beach, we swap in the huge saltwater indoor/outdoor pool. The Jacuzzi was the perfect spot for us parents to relax. There was also a sauna, but it was a bit too hot for either of us to enjoy. I loved that all these amenities were open 24 hours a day.If your looking to see things besides the beach Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, and the Virginia Marine Science Museum are all just a short drive, we also did these five free activities with the kids. Virginia’s First Landing State Park is also located minutes away. It offers bike trails, hiking trails, camping, picnic area, boat ramps and many more recreational and education activities. If you plan to visit the beach during your stay, make sure you check out Happy Winds Rental Shack. They are located right behind the hotel and offer umbrella, chair, cabana, boogie board, kayak rentals and more.
The positives way out weight the negatives at Virginia Beach Resort Hotel & Conference Center and I highly suggest booking a stay there if you’ll be in the area. With a few upgrades, that I’m thinking are coming soon, this hotel will be amazing! You can book a stay at the Virginia Beach Resort Hotel & Conference Center by visiting VirginiaBeachResort.com!
