5 Free Things To Do With Kids in Orlando, FL

5-free-things-in-orlandoOrlando is known bet for their amazing theme parks, but there are also many free kids’ activities in Orlando. You don’t need a ton of money for a fun weekend with the family or a play date adventure. During the winter, we spent the majority of our time in or near Orlando and have found a ton of free things to do. Below are our favorites.

1. Lake Eola Park- This 43-acre recreational area is in the heart of downtown Orlando. There is a large playground with activities for every age, picnic spots along the shore and swans to feed. You can enjoy spectacular views of Orlando’s skyline and marvel at iconic fountain, which puts on a spectacular light show in the evening. Lake Eola Park Fountain2. Disney- Alright, People spend a fortune each year on going into the parks, but there is so much to do for free. The best ride in all of Walt Disney World is not in a theme park and it is 100 percent free, it is the iconic Walt Disney World monorail. With no ticket required you can board either of the two monorail loops and view the surrounding area. Downtown Disney is also a fun place to experience the magic of Disney without the hefty cost.Disney Monorail3. LEGO Imagination Center- Packed into 4,400 square feet of fun, and located at Disney Springs, the LEGO Imagination Center can occupy any age kiddo for hours. This large play area lets kids explore their creativity by building with colorful bricks at no cost to parents.

4. Harry P. Leu Gardens- The first Monday of each month admission is free to this 50-acre botanical oasis. Each garden is designed to inspire visitors to appreciate and understand plants.     The park sounds wonderful and the light show in the evening sounds perfect . My son would love the Lego Imagination center but I’m not sure how I would be able to get him to leave as he can happily build with them for hours.
