Coco Key Water Resort – Orlando, FL

Disclaimer: My families stay at Coco Key was provided complimentary in exchange for this review.

Orlando is a large city. So large that even if you live here, or visit often, you’ll never run out of places to explore and experiences to share with your loved ones. Whether you’re looking for the theme park experience, museum options, theater or just looking for a patch of sun to soak up, Orlando has your needs covered. In addition to a plethora of exciting sites and attractions, Orlando is also home of some pretty stellar hotels.16780514_10210754669337081_594708223_nRecently we had the opportunity to stay at the Coco Key Water Resort, located on International Drive and boy did we have a blast. My entire family is filled with water enthusiasts. If it was up to my kids, we would go swimming every single day – so this particular resort was right up our alley.Cocokey frontCoco Key Water Resort is home to 391 guest rooms, a state of the art arcade, three on site restaurants AND a 54,000 sq ft. canopy covered water park! arcade cocokeyWith so much to do at the Resort, you never really have to leave!16754586_10210754669537086_461792278_n But if you want to there are a ton of things with in walking distance, such as Chuck E Cheese, Cici’s, Dunkin Donuts, Chili’s, TGI Friday’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, IHOP, Panda Express, Denny’s and so much more.16754084_10210754668777067_1148158058_nDuring our stay, the six of us had plenty of space in our Family Room. Comprised of two adjoining standard rooms, the Family Room has a total of four beds (two queen sizes in each) and a sitting area.16754287_10210754668937071_582503994_nEach room had a 37″ flat screen television, bathtub with shower, mini refrigerator, coffeemaker, hairdryer, iron and ironing board and a laptop sized safe.16736165_10210754668977072_1180446952_nI loved that my husband and I had our own bathroom, and the kids had theirs. This made showers after visiting the water park so easy! It also gave me an entire counter for my stuff and the kids and entire counter for theirs.16754758_10210754669137076_1203090538_nThe majority of our stay at Coco Keys we spent in the water park, and believe it or not all four of my kids (2, 5, 7 and 9) had something to do. 16754155_10210754669217078_830910319_nWhile I watched my kids the entire time they were in the water, I felt so reassured to see the lifeguards really, really on top of it the entire time we were there. You can really tell safety is their number one priority.16754542_10210754669257079_358173881_nCaleb and Emmitt spent most of their time in the first area of the water park. It is filled with wheels to turn, levers to push and ropes to pull.16779973_10210754669297080_864587628_nThey also enjoyed going down the small slides, that Nathan and I could stand at the bottom of to catch them. This entire area is covered by a canopy and perfect for toddlers.16754131_10210754669577087_1294103970_nCarlee’s favorite area was the middle pool, she loved going down the big tunnel slide and because she is so fair skinned I really appreciated that this pool was half covered by the canopy.16736560_10210754669457084_99814100_nI spent most of my afternoons switching between sun and shade lounging by this pool. Awesome view – right?16754586_10210754669537086_461792278_nThe older kids had to be pulled out of the main water park area every night. There was just so much to do, and fun to be had. We spent hours and hours at the water park and enjoyed every minute of it!16754724_10210754669417083_1901643153_n

Improvements? Yes this Resort could use some. I dislike that the snack bar next to the pool is so expensive and that they don’t allow outside food in. Feeding four little ones even just a snack was very costly. My entire family also found the ramp you have to walk up to enter the water park to be very slick, we had three tumbles here – but no serious injuries. It is also worth noting that house keeping totally missed all the wooden cabinets in our room. They cleaned it up quickly, but I was kinda grossed out originally.

If you are looking for a way to experience a fun in the sun vacation with your loved ones, I highly suggest Coco Key Water Resort. The rates are more than reasonable, the Water Park is a blast and the location is prime. Click here for more information.

This looks like a wonderful water park suited for small children. We are heading to Disney in the Fall and will definitely add this to the list.
