Quilo- The Revolutionary Evaporative Air Cooler and Humidifier

Disclosure: This post brought to you by Quilo!

Hot summer days suck. I am not looking forward to the heat here in Arizona. It will be our first summer in the dry desert and I am petrified about what our electric bill will look like. My office doesn’t have a single AC vent in it, so just thinking about working in there this summer makes me want to cry. But thanks to the Quilo, I can cool my office down by up to 10%, humidify my office AND hear a soothing fan sound while I work. What is the Quilo you ask? Well the Quilo is a revolutionary fan, evaporative air cooler and humidifier! All you have to do is add water to the tank, and Quilo’s evaporative cooling technology rapidly reduces the temperature of incoming warm air, creating a refreshing cool breeze.

The Quilo 3in1 is a fan, evaporative air cooler and humidifier. These three functions are achieved through differing combinations of fanning power and evaporative cooling. Evaporative Cooling Mode activates the evaporative cooling system. When selected, you will hear the pump circulating water through the system. Use this mode for both cooling and humidifying. For optimal cooling, fill both the water tray and ice compartment; for humidifying, fill just water tray.

You can also set the fan speed  between low, medium, high and auto. You can use this setting solo or together with the evaporative cooling mode. For fanning, use this setting solo; for cooling, select Evaporative Cooling + a high fan speed; for humidifying, select Evaporative Cooling + a low fan speed. The timer allows you to switch the unit off in increments of 30 minutes, up to 7.5 hours.

There is also an Oscillate mode, Turbo mods and Sleep mode.

So how exactly does it work? Well the Quilo is designed with a honeycomb cooling pad, a water tray and a pump. The pump circulates the water from the water tray, through the unit, wetting the honeycomb media. The fan then sucks in hot air from the outside and through the media, transferring the heat from the air into the cool water. The fan then converts these liquid molecules into water vapor, emitting cooler, but moister, air on the other side. Evaporative cooling thrives on a continuous supply of dry air which it can then moisten and cool.  This makes the Quilo perfect for Tucson area weather!
If you live somewhere where you only need the Quilo half the year, storing the Quilo is easy peasy. Simply allow it to run on Fan only mode for 1-2 hours to ensure all parts are fully dry, drain and dry the water tray and store in a dry location, at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. The remote and the power cord can be stored in the top compartment!
So go ahead, give Quilo a try! There is really no risk because if you are not completely satisfied with your Quilo, you can return it within 30 days for a full refund. Plus, each unit is covered under a 1-year limited warranty against manufacturer defects.
