Baby Trend Sit N Stand Double Stroller

Disclosure: The stroller in the feature below was provided compliments of Baby Trend!

With the addition of our second little one, Olive, I was debating about getting a double stroller.  Hannah is 3 1/2, and can do a good amount of walking on her own.  However, with living in the city, I knew she’s not quite ready to walk the longer distances we do downtown.  I could also think of times at the mall where having room for bags and a whiney, pulling-on-my-leg toddler, would be a lifesaver.  The Baby Trend Sit N Stand Double is a great answer to those scenarios of mine, and many others with two children, close in age or not.stroller__001The Baby Trend Sit N Stand Double has a lot of flexibility, in how it is setup and who it can hold.  From holding two infant car seats, to one infant car seat and one regular seat, two seats, and then finally, the single seat with the traditional Sit N Stand seat in the rear.  This feature has got to be one of the biggest strengths and selling points of this stroller,  giving flexibility in various situations and room to grow as your family does.stroller__002We first tried it out with Hannah, 3 1/2, in the front, and Olive, 5 months, in the rear.  The rear seat reclines back a good amount, so Olive was comfortably able to take a quick snooze on our way to the park.stroller__003 I was quickly impressed by the size of the adjustable canopies on both seats, giving a great amount of shade, much better than other strollers we’ve used. I really liked that both seats featured an adjustable 5-point harnesses, keeping the little ones safe. Both harnesses were also very easy to adjust to the size of the child.stroller__008Hannah (and I) were excited about the nice snack trays.  Both seats come with removable snack trays, including a cup holder (the rear one just has to come off for the Sit N Stand feature).  I get a bit grossed out when crumbs get buried in those deep cup holders, so the swing down feature of the snack tray makes it easy to crumby leftovers-quite handy! The underneath storage basket is also a very generous size. It can easily hold a large diaper bag and a few jackets, etc.stroller__004Going along with the kids’ snack trays, there is also a parent tray by the handle, with two cup holders (coffee & water for me!) and a covered compartment, great for storing your keys or phone.stroller__005

After using the stroller a number of times with the above setup, we tried out the Sit N Stand feature.  It took us a bit of time to figure out the first time, but within about 10 minutes, we had removed the rear seat and were setup to utilize the Sit N Stand feature.  Now, when given the choice, our 3 1/2 year old begs to sit on the back, since it gives flexibility to still be a bigger kid and stand up and move around, but still go for a ride.
stroller__006A few other thoughts about the Baby Trend Sit N Stand Double Stroller:
  • Fairly easy to maneuver, even in the city.  A bit challenging to get up steep sidewalks that don’t have a ramp, but overall it felt well-balanced and was smooth to push.
  • Has an easy to access, foot activated rear brake.
  • We especially love the color of this stroller-Elixer (deep purple & gray)
  • And finally, this stroller easily expands and collapses, even one handed. This is rare for double strollers.  I personally have shed tears over terrible folding down features of other strollers, so this made me jump for joy!

stroller__009If you are looking for a double stroller that is easy to use, affordable, and is able to grow with your family and your needs over the years to come, the Baby Trend Sit N Stand Double may be just what you’re looking for.

  1. Thanks for the review… Lord willing we will have two approximately the same distance (by age) apart and this looks like it would come in very handy.

  5. Matt Stringham says

I have seen these around and thought they looked so awesome!!! I would love to have one because my two year old will not ride in a stroller, but she would probably stand.

  6. Debby Chandler says

I’m going to have to tell my son and his wife about this stroller. It is so much nicer and convenient than the one they are using now. They are in the market for a new stroller.

  7. Sherry Compton says

They both look so happy and cute! I love that this is user friendly and easy to maneuver and fold. Busy moms, dads…need to be able to move around and not be slowed down lugging a bulky, stiff stroller. This looks very versatile and secure, too. I agree that it’s a nice color.

  8. Christina Strapp says

My husband and I are looking for a double stroller. We saw this one at the store and it looked nice. It’s nice to see a review on it. I will have to put this one of the list.

  9. I love this stroller! I have a Joovy Caboose that i do love and it supports the carseat but its not as transitional as this one. I like that it gives you many options for seating like double stroller seats or sit and stand.

  10. April White says

I have this stroller and I love it! I completely agree with your review. It’s been a life saver when we go to the zoo, mall or park and my three year old gets tired and my six month old is taking a nap. 🙂
