Disclosure: Baby Trend provided me the FastBack seats I used in this post!
I am a large believer in extended rear facing, but eventually- your little one will need to forward face and when they do you want to make sure they are just as safe as they were rear facing. The Baby Trend Trendz FastBack 3-in-1 Car Seat allows for easy, tight installation and is really the last seat you will need to buy once your child is forward facing.
The FastBack 3-in-1 car seat features a rigid LATCH system, vehicle tether strap, built-in safety harness, adjustable back and head support, and a solid steel frame for the absolute best in safety.
Features Include:
- Solid steel frame.
- Rigid LATCH anchors.
- Three-position head support.
- Soft body insert for smaller children
- One-button harness adjuster.
- Three-position recline.
- Removable, washable seat cover.
- 120-pound weight capacity
Installation of the FastBack is a Breeze! Simply extend the LATCH Connectors and then push them into the LATCH in your vehicle. You will literally, hear the click! Then you press easy to reach, yellow tabs on the side of the seat and firmly the car seat towards the vehicle seat! Teather the top, and the seat is ready to be used!
All my kids, aged 2-6 fit harnessed in the Baby Trend Trendz FastBack 3-in-1 Car Seat and the one-hand, push button adjuster makes adjusting both the head support and the Flex-Sides fast and simple, eliminating the need to rethread the harness which makes this seat great for multiple kids! You can readjust the seat with out uninstalling it!
Emmitt is two and 28lbs.
Carlee is four and 37lbs.
Ethan is six and 46lbs.
As long as your child is less than 70lbs and their shoulders are below the harness slots in the highest position the harness is recommended. When you choose to move your child to a booster there are certain requirements they must meet first. The highback booster can be used once your child is over 4, between 30 and 100 lbs and 38 to 57 inches tall.
Carlee is four years old and 37lbs so can ride in the highback booster, however she is also still able to be in the harness- which is where I am more comfortable with her sitting.
Ethan is six years old and 46lbs and fills the highback booster much better than his little sister.
The backless booster can be used once your child is able to sit upright and still, around 6 or 7, weighs between 40 and 120 lbs and is 43 to 57 inches tall! Blake is eight years old and a perfect candidate for the backless mode!
If your looking for an easy to install car seat that is good for all your forward facing needs- the Baby Trend Trendz FastBack 3-in-1 Car Seat just may be perfect for you!

What a spectacular seat! I love how versatile it is and you can truly use it through the years. That alone makes it a wonderful investment.
I have the graco neutella and this one looks less heavy and bulky! I love how it will last the whole time before the seat expires!
I want to buy this seat but I am wondering about the 5 point harness. Are there two positions on the part that goes in between the legs? My convertible car seat I currently have is starting to be to close and tight to my crotch area. Could you please ask your sons how they feel when belted into the 5 point harness.
Thank you
