Duck Donuts – Lancaster, PA

Disclosure: Our afternoon snack was provided compliments of Duck Donuts.

duck-donutsWhen it comes to donuts, everyone knows that it’s true, there is nothing like a freshly made warm donut or two or three… Thankfully if you’re in the Lancaster area you can stop by Duck Donuts and get a dozen warm, delicious vanilla cake donuts that are crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and made to order.14302573_10209264287558468_1140168631_n-1Ordering is simple. You start with a bare donut and select a coating (like chocolate), then a topping (like oreos) and then a drizzle (like hot fudge).  You can also order from their favorite combination menu, or order them bare. Once your order is placed, your donuts are made.14269804_10209264287438465_1141921347_nAs soon as your donut is made, the toppings are added. This is my  kids very favorite part. I loved that the Lancaster store had a small ledge for kids to stand on. I only wish that the ‘toppings center’ was on the other side of the viewing glass instead of across the room.14249013_10209264287598469_1528869541_nThen it’s chow time!14256538_10209264288038480_201336621_nMy younger kids loved the donuts that were piled high with toppings like sprinkles, Oreos and marshmallow cream…14269620_10209264288198484_2083257572_n Hubby and I liked the more simple donuts. The bare ones are simply delicious and the cinnamon sugar ones go great with hot coffee.14302593_10209264288158483_1180389582_nRegardless, whatever you order won’t last long. They are too delicious!14287749_10209264293438615_43282817_n

They look awesome! Next time we’re out that way, we’ll have to stop in!

  2. I am so bookmarking this. These sound delicious! We’ll definitely have to drop by Duck Donuts if we ever find ourselves in the area. I’ve never been to a shop that has such an amazing variety of toppings! ?

  3. We love Duck Donuts and had no clue they had a Lancaster location, another one to add to our list. We hit the Outer Banks and Williamsburg ones when we visit family.

    • Outer Banks was their first location I believe!! Russell, the founder visited the Outer Banks and enjoyed all of the amenities a quiet, family oriented vacation area could provide but they realized that you couldnt find a single fresh donut in the area.

It started out as a far-fetched idea and a fun project, but quickly turned into Duck Donuts!!

  4. yum! We have never tried fresh donuts like that.

  5. Oh my! I’ve never been to a donut shop to get FRESH donuts! Now I”m drooling. Bookmarking for the next time I’m in PA!

  6. Those look so good! I’m definitely adding this to my list of places to try! My kids would just about pass out if I told them they could customize their own donuts..

How amazing and delicious! You had me at donut but designing and customizing….I’d be there all the time. 🙂 How fun for kids – and adults- this would be. Thanks for sharing.

  11. These look amazing! We probably won’t be to that part of the country anytime soon, but I wish we were just to eat these!

Now that’s what I call fresh donuts. I wish we had one of those here. I know my grandchildre and me too, would love watching them make our donuts.

These look amazing! I wish I lived closer!

  17. Wow, it doesn’t get any fresher than that! Yummy 🙂 I know my kids would have fun creating their own donut with their favorite topping 🙂 Very cool!

  18. I have never had vanilla cake donuts. I like seeing the ones with the frosting drizzle. I have not had warm donuts in a long time, since the kind my mom bought us was discontinued. The great thing about these is that you can either serve them as breakfast or dessert, and the variety choices are endless. You can find a flavor favorite for everyone!
