The boys all took a nap today so my daughter and I and I decided to make rainbow Cupcakes! (only I would decide to bake on the first day this year the weather is 80+, my AC is on now!) I made a box of white cake, while Carlee lined the cupcake tin with liners. Then I divided the batter into 5 bowls, and Carlee and I mixed the colors together using neon food coloring.
Then I put a spoonful of red in each cupcake liner. When I was out of red I let Carlee lick the red spoon! Then I put a spoonful of orange in each cupcake liner. Carlee got this spoon too- I did this with each color.
Then I stuck them in the oven and waited. Took them out when they were done and waited for them to cool. This was Carlees least favorite part, so we ate two with no frosting! Then we iced it with cherry frosting and put a cherry on top! Make sure the cherry is dry, or else it will roll off the cupcake onto the floor! We learned this the hard way.
Then we chowed down! Well… She did anyways!
Pretty neat huh? Best Rainbow Cupcake Recipie ever!
(bolded words are all you need to make these!)

So awesome. 🙂
I wish I could bake. If I were to “make” this, it would turn into a soggy blob!
That is such a cool idea! My 2-year-old Katie would think this was amazing!
Great idea! My little on will be turning one soon and these are a great idea for her birthday cupcakes!
So much fun. I think I may do this with my kiddos!
Love to bake with my little girl. This is something we are going to try. Thanks.
These are really cute and look like a lot of fun!
