Small town charm is at your fingertips when you visit Harbor View RV resort. Located just 20 minutes from the quaint town of Colonial Beach, you will make memories that will last a lifetime at Harbor View.Open April through October this campground has 144 sites. Upon arrival, we were assigned a site that our camper would fit on and a staff member showed us to our site. I am beginning to really enjoy campgrounds that do this, as staff members typically know their parks better than I.
We had full hookups, a very level site, a nice picnic table and a brand new fire pit. The pool was a hike away, but a large field was just across from us with ample room for running around and playing ball. Both our van and our truck fit easily on our site with our 42 foot 5th wheel.
We spent the majority of our time by the pool. It is massive! There was rarely anyone else there, so we had the pool to ourselves most days. The kids had a blast. There was ample chairs and a nice bathroom to shower in before and after. Life jackets and puddle jumpers are available from the front office if you don’t have one or forgot yours.
This campground is in the middle of nowhere. The nearest Walmart is a 35 minute drive and normal grocery store 20 minutes. Fredricksburg is about an hour away and Richmond an hour and fifteen minutes. Highly suggest you do a big shop before visiting and then just enjoy being away from it all.
We were here for a short 9 day stay and very impressed by all the family activities they had. A free ice cream social one weekend and then family bingo the next.
Nearby you can visit George Washington’s Birthplace as well as the town where they found John Wilkes Booth.
I would love to see funds put into the playgrounds at Harbor View. My kids were less than impressed.
