Disclosure: K’NEX sent us the below three Building Sets, free of charge to try out!
My kids have been K’NEX fans for some time now. They started with TINKERTOYs before they could even walk and transitioned to regular K’NEX soon after. This year, Real Mom Reviews was asked to be a K’NEX Brand Ambassador and review brand new K’NEX products for all of you!
I received a box jam packed with awesome K’NEX and TINKERTOY items. My kids tore into the box quicker than lightning and each quickly found a toy or two to play with! My 6 year olds still play with TINKERTOYS but really loved the brand new Helicopter, Plane and Truck Classics Intro Build sets!
The K’NEX Classics Intro Builds are the perfect set for first-time builders! Choose from one of three sets; the classically designed plane, helicopter with working propeller, or fire truck with rotating wheels. Collect and build all three to create a space shuttle with cargo doors that open and close! Each set contains 60+ classic, made in the USA K’NEX rods and connectors and full color instructions!
The Classic Plane Building Set uses 67 K’NEX pieces to build a plane and fly away! This was the easiest of the three to put together and my kids loved that it featured wheels on the bottom so they could drive and fly the plane.
The Classic Truck Building Set also uses 67 K’NEX pieces to build a truck and zoom away! This was the hardest of the three to put together, mainly because of the front bumper, however it drives the smoothest because it has four wheels.
The Classic Helicopter Building Set uses 62 K’NEX pieces to build a helicopter with working rotor! I was amazed to see that the rotor actually spun around because it made it so much more realistic- which the kids really appreciated as well!
The fan favorite of the three is for sure the plane, but my kids play with them all often! When you combine all three of the sets above you can build a space shuttle with cargo doors that open and close- however this is a bit to advanced for my 6 year olds.
Buy It: Suggested retail price is $5.99 per box. Ages 5+. Available now on knex.com, Amazon.com and at toy retailers nationwide.
We’re still a little too young for these, but do your kids prefer these over lego sets?
We bought a huge tub of Knex at a garage sale for only $5. I think my husband has more fun with them than our 3 year old son.
