I don’t know why we have to wait until 2017 for another Avengers movie, but that’s a LONG time don’t you think? Especially for a #fangirl like me. Yeah, yeah, Avengers: Age of Ultron was just released on DVD… I’ve already watched it. I want more, and, in the words of Veruca Salt, “I want it nooooowwwwwwww!”
Thankfully, there is something to hole me over- Marvel Universe LIVE! Marvel Universe Live is a live action show that features all of our favorite Marvel Superheroes- and not just the Avengers!
The story is framed around the battle over the Cosmic Cube, the source of ultimate power and one of the most feared and coveted treasures in the Marvel Universe. The Cosmic Cube has been shattered into pieces by the Mighty Thor in order to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands.
Like I said, it’s not just the Avengers. Finally, finally, Spider-Man joins his original crew {along with Wolverine and the Fantastic 4} to take on the God of Mischief himself, Loki, Green Goblin, Red Skull, Electra, and more dastardly villains in their quest to rule the world!
But don’t think that Marvel Universe Live is a play; it’s a free-flying, colorful, explosive, extravaganza of special effects, daring stunts, fireworks, and, of course, humor for the whole family.
Stunt motorbikes, superheroes flying across stage, the Black Widow kicking butt- you’ll see it all!
I have to admit that I wasn’t sure what to expect when we arrived. I was thinking “Is this a play? Is it a reenactment? What is it?” But it was actually pretty close to an entire movie on a stage. Even my 6 year old, a little one who is inclined to need to move constantly, sat and watched, mouth agape, at all the action. If it’s action packed enough to keep her still, I am willing to bet it’ll keep your little one still, too.
She was SO excited to see Spider-Man be a part of her favorite superhero clan! Spider-Man is her favorite character ever and she thought it was so great to see him with her other favorites- she LOVED telling me about all the characters he fights, like Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus, and how she would defeat them, too.
