My love for Lexus started the second I slipped into the ES 350, however the ES was not quite big enough to haul the entire family around and sometimes I need a vehicle that is big enough for us all to go somewhere. The LX 570 is not a small vehicle! It’s a big, heavy beast that can pack people and cargo like no “SUV” I have ever seen, plus it can tow really big loads! Specifically designed for versatility, usability and luxury. But as with all Lexus vehicles, luxury comes first.
The Lexus LX 570 comes with advanced safety, comfort and quality features that you will quickly grow to love, if you can afford the hefty price tag!
Features Include:
- 383 horsepower
- 5.7-liter V8
- 7,000-lb towing capacity
- Full-time four-wheel drive with Crawl Control
- Wide-view Front and Side Monitor
- Mark Levinson 19-speaker Surround Sound Audio System
- Back Up Camera
- Power tilt-and-telescopic steering column with automatic tilt-away
My first thoughts after climbing into the LX 570 was button overload. There are at least 100 and I strongly suggest if you buy a LX you read your manual so you can discover what all this amazing vehicle does! As soon as I got over how may buttons there were, I realized how comfortable and beautiful the interior was! Stunning mahogany wood trim surrounds the rich black leather you just soak into!
The LX 570 is kind of a “forgotten” Lexus model. Many people are gravitating towards crossovers or more fuel efficient vehicles- however some people just need the space that the LX 570 has to offer! I was able to fit five car seats in the LX with little effort. The seats are wide and made LATCH installation super easy and the kids were still able to get in and out, even with three seats installed in the second row. The front seats are roomy, supportive and widely adjustable. The driver’s seat adjusts 10 ways, and the passenger seat 8 ways. The Easy Access system automatically retracts the steering wheel and driver’s seat when the ignition is turned off to make the driver’s ingress and egress easier. Both seats were heated and my tushy stayed warm, even when it was -2 degrees outside.
The DVD rear-seat entertainment system includes dual screens and wireless headphones that kept the kids quiet on both short and long trips. The kids in the third row had a bit of a hard time seeing the screens but with a bit of neck cranning they were able to see it.
When I’m not toting the family around I am normally in my small car. However my small car is not good for big shopping trips. The rear seats of the LX fold out of the way to create 83.1 cubic feet of cargo area. Even with all seats up you have 15-cubic-feet- which is plenty enough for groceries.
I like smaller vehicles because I can really feel where all four corners are. However, as I stated above- with lots of kids to tote around sometimes I have to drive big. The hood is quite big, which makes watching the right front corner a bit complicated. Plus all the headrests and height of the vehicle make it a bit hard to see what is behind you. Fortunately, the spiffy electronic systems rescued me. The wide-angle cameras located in the front grille and passenger-side mirror allow the driver to see the front and side of the vehicle by projecting images of these blind spots on a split-screen display. Auditory sensors to warn of contact with objects around the front, rear and corners of the vehicle when parking. These parking aids make getting into tight quarters and parking in general super easy!
If you looking for a large, luxury vehicle the LX may just be the vehicle for you! Toting around my kids was both easy and comfortable during my week long test drive and I was sad to go back to my mini van when it left! The LX 570 is also great for off road fun and towing- neither of which I tested out during my test drive!

Special thanks to Lexus for letting me test drive the LX for a week.
This looks big enough for me, love that it is luxorious and has a kick-butt audio system.
I guess wide-angle cameras contribute to the hefty price tag – but this something all cars should have. Safety first – maybe the prices will come down.
Out of all your vehicle reviews I like this one the best, my kind of SUV! Thanks for the honest post.
OMG, I love the steering wheel on this one. It just looks so fancy!
Wow. What a sexy car. The interior is beautiful!
This is some fancy car. Love the steering wheel – but all those buttons make it look like the inside of a 747 cockpit. Kind of intimidating!
Wow this doesn’t even look like a Lexus, they’ve really changed the whole look of it. I love it!!!
I love Lexus cars. I had one before. Thank you for the review!
This SUV certainly looks like it would not only keep my family of five comfortable but it would allow us to ride in style. The backup camera, DVD system and blind spot mirror are definitely things I wouldn’t want to be without.
You can’t ever go wrong with a Lexus, or Toyota, that’s for sure! Great quality vehicles! Looks very spacious!
