Bright Time Buddies

If you have a small child that still needs a nightlight or a big kid who is afraid of the dark then Bright Time Buddies could be a perfect gift for under the tree.Bright Time Buddies Bright Time Buddies are an adorable night light friend (made for boys or girls ages 3+) that you can take with you anywhere! My girls, ages 4 and 8, were super excited when I pulled these little guys out of the box! There are six different animals to choose from, we have the puppy and the unicorn.Bright Time BuddiesEach one requires 3 AAA batteries, which are not included and there is no power adapter to use in place of the batteries. If you don’t have any at home I suggest grabbing some BEFORE showing your kids their new night time lights or you may have some tears and disappointment.IMG_3066Bright Time buddies are made of a soft plastic and are portable so kids can take them anywhere! Bathroom break in the middle of the night? Need a sip of water from the kitchen? Bright Time Buddies are there helping them find the way. After turning the buddy on by pressing the button on the top of their head they will start glowing.

IMG_3064-EditEach buddy has 3 different colors that rotate through green, yellow and blue. If they want to have a solid color that doesn’t change it’s no problem. Just another press of the button at the top and the color will stay solid. We did find that the on/off button was hard to press at times, even for me. So, I mostly had to turn it on for my youngest because she wasn’t able to press the button hard enough. My 8 year old struggled but was able to do it. Although my girls didn’t mind the alternating lights at night, I did. And eventually made them keep them on a solid color. I found that the routing light color was distracting and kept them awake at night because they wanted to watch the colors change. They are super cute, the glow of the light is soft and the light will turn off by itself after about an hour.Bright Time BuddiesWe kept them on the dresser for a couple nights which put a nice glow over the room then my girls decided they wanted to sleep with their buddy, which was fine with me because they don’t get hot to the touch and they also turn off on their own. If they wake up in the middle of the night they just find their buddy and turn him back on.Not sure if the unicorn malfunctioned after initially putting in the brand new batteries or if the new batteries were bad. None the less the unicorn would go through two different light cycles (about 20 seconds), have an orange/red glow instead of a yellow and then shut off. After changing the batteries it was fine but the orange/red color was gone as well.IMG_3065Disinfecting/cleaning is easy with the hard outer shell, just grab a disinfecting wipe or use soap and water to scrub this little guy clean! The paint job is sub-par, seemed rubbed off in a couple places already when opened new from the manufacturer box. Not sure I would trust giving it to a small child as I wouldn’t want the paint in their mouth. Overall though I think the Bright Time Buddies are a great thing for little ones to have.

  1. My youngest still sleeps with her little unicorn!!

  2. We had issues with ours. We couldn’t open the battery compartment to put batteries in. The second one wouldn’t turn off, so it drained the batteries. Really disappointed in this product!

  5. What a great design! Those are such fun animals to choose from. My little sister would love this! If this had been made when I was growing up, I would have used it to stay up and read!
