I think we all want to be healthier, eat healthier, drink more water and exercise. Lets face it, having a healthier lifestyle can be a challenge when you aren’t prepped and prepared for it. Otherwise you find yourself in the same grind of quick processed meals or fast food drive-thru. Spending lots of time in the kitchen is few and far between for my family and is typically only done on weekends, if we have a spare one. If I want healthy meals during the week some of my prep work is done Sundays. Luckily, there is a company called Crisp. They offer handy dandy affordable little kitchen gadgets that can help you make eating healthier a little more easier.
I’ve had a couple of these tools for several weeks and have really been able to get a feel for them and their durability.
The Paring Knife. My initial thought was “wow, that looks cheap”. Probably because of the white blade instead of a shiny steel blade. This little thing is the king of paring knives though!! Most of our knives in our cupboard have seen their better days to put it nicely. This little straight paring knife fits perfectly in your hand and cuts like butter through anything! We put it through the test slicing and dicing fruits and veges, cutting meats, slicing open shipping boxes. It holds up nicely. Plus, I can put it right in the dishwasher! I know my mom would scold me that you have to hand wash your sharp knives (as well as pots and pans). If a product says it’s dishwasher safe, that’s where it is going in our home. Another feature I really liked was the Crisp paring knife comes with a cover for the blade that also has a sharpener inside! Every time you put your knife away and take it out it zips over the sharpener to stay nice and new. The Crisp paring knife is something that will stay in my house for years to come. Hopefully I can add to our collection with a few of their other knives as they are priced very reasonable. Next time you are chopping onions or peppers, chop the whole thing and freeze what you don’t use for another time a recipe calls for that. The Citrus Squeezer. This is something that I don’t use often but is nice to have on hand when a recipe calls for fresh squeezed juice. The twist on/off measuring cup allows you to easily see how much juice you have without having to use a separate measuring cup. The website says you can use it for fresh squeezed juice as well, I think my arm would get tired before I would have enough a morning cup of juice.
The Zester. Multi-functional, that’s what this little baby is all about. Honestly, I am not even sure I am using this thing to it’s full potential. The little side blade is handy to cut the side of oranges, lemons and grapefruit to make pealing easier. No more pushing your thumb into the top of your fruit to peel the rind off. There are two zesting blades on this tool. One cuts the fruit into fine ribbons while the other is for thicker pieces. A little tip for the next time you vest something, zest the entire fruit and store the extra in a air tight container and keep in the freezer. The zest will stay fresh for awhile and you save time by not having to zest multiple times.
The Avocado Tool. I love fresh avocado on my salads, burgers, with my chicken. It’s delicious and so so healthy. But, I often feel like I am wasting half the avocado by trying to peel it with a knife and and dig out the pit. That is until I realized there was an actual tool to do this. The avocado tool makes it easy and safe to quickly split, pit and neatly slice your avocado. There is a “wavy knife” that neatly tucks into the side of the tool that is used for slicing and pitting. As you are slicing your avocado into slices this little tool also removes the skin. Definitely one of my new favorite easy to use kitchen tools. I did read that the avocado tool comes with a 7 year limited warranty.
These look like great kitchen tools. I really want the avocado tool.
I like the juicer with its on cup attached.
I need the avocado tool! I did not know that they even had this product. I have cut my hands so many times slicing avocados. This is something that I really need!
The avocado tool is great and with a 7 year warranty, wow! I also really like the juicer.
how interesting,,ive never used one of these before
I think I would drink more water if I had The Citrus Squeezer 🙂 I’d love to squeeze some lemon or grapefruit juice into my water for taste and health benefits. I also love The Avocado Tool 🙂
I like the paring knife. I really need a good one. Your “initial thought” made me laugh out loud!
Very nice.I would like to give this a try
I love these kitchen tools! I am a big fan of cooking and I really appreciate the easy-to-use designs. They are so efficient, simple, and well designed. The citrus squeezer is awesome because it makes my life easier when I’m squeezing fresh lemon juice or lime juice for my breakfast smoothie or to make tasty dressings. The avocado tool is great because it makes an avocado so much easier to peel with less mess than using a knife and cutting board. It’s also very affordable compared to other similar products on the market today that offer similar features but don’t look as cool as this one does!
