Kenisee Lake RV Campground – Jefferson, OH

Kenisee Lake campground is the perfect place to escape to if your looking to get back in touch with nature. We visited this park for only a few days, but my kids still talk about their adventures here. The entire park is surrounded by pristine waters and towering foliage. It is the perfect place to disconnect and escape the hustle and bustle for a few days. This preserve has a beautiful lake, three ponds and lots of campsites in a variety of settings … heavily wooded sites, clear and open camping, or scenic sites with a lake view. We had no problem finding a site, the map inside the office clearly marked all of the seasonal sites and then a ranger showed us where our RV would fit. With only 119 sites, I was shocked at how many we could fit on. The site we choose was fairly level, we did have to place a board under one side but then were able to level out no problem.Our site was perfect. Huge side yard, gorgeous wooded area behind us, plenty of shade and the small park was right across from us. I was, at first a bit disappointed in the size of the park. But I think that was partially because we had just left Indian Lakes which has a massive, brand new park. My kids made the best of it. They played in the large sandbox with our dump trucks and took a sheet over to the wooden playground and built a fort. Below is a view of the park from my bedroom window.Our AT&T signal was strong, but our Verizon was none existent. We made the best of it by spending as much time outside as we could. Nightly walks in the preserve were my favorite part of our stay. The colors the sky turned were simply amazing. The small pond is perfect for kayaking and fishing.
