Disclosure: Our stay at Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa was complimentary in exchange for an unbiased review.
Have you ever needed a vacation from your vacation? Well we sure have. After 14 days at Disney World we were exhausted and ready to get away from it all. So we booked at stay at Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa. It’s located in prime shopping area in downtown Orlando, however we stayed in the hotel the majority of the time because it was so comfortable and we couldn’t drag the kids away from the pool. Our suite large enough to accommodate us all without the kids getting on each others nerves or feeling cramped, which is a big plus when you’re traveling with little ones! When we checked in at the Lake Beuna Vista Resort we were directed to one of their beautiful Two Bedroom Suites. These suites have everything you need to feel like you’re staying in your home away from home. They include a master bedroom with king size bed and flat screen for the grownups, a second bedroom for the little ones to share, living room, kitchen, laundry area, balcony with a view of the pool and two bathrooms. I was not sure we needed two full bathrooms, but with little ones things can get a little hectic. The second bathroom made nighttime baths easier and there was no bickering about who got to use the tub first. The living room area was probably the most utilized space in the entire suite. The couch had a pullout couch, which is great if you have extra guests or little ones who want to have a movie night and the flatscreen TV made keeping them entertained a breeze when we weren’t out lounging at the pool. A little off to the side of the living room, there was also a dining area that included seating for 6. We ate out most of our stay but every once and awhile we did gather around the table to talk, hangout or indulge in snack time. The kitchen was a wonderful feature. Like I said, we didn’t eat in the room much but the fact that there was a fully functional kitchen was a nice perk. The counters were made of lovely granite, while the cabinets were crafted from cherry wood and the appliances were full size, not miniature like a lot of hotels these days. They even include a fridge, freezer, stove/oven, ice maker AND dishwasher. Talk about nifty! As an added bonus, the kitchen was also fully stoked with everything you need to feed your family on, including plates, glasses and flatware! Right next to the kitchen was a closet with both a washer and a dryer. I was able to pack light, in anticipation of this and greatly appreciated clean PJs each night.
It doesn’t get much better than a room with a view and our suite had a beautiful private balcony that offered us an incredible view of the pool. When you book your room you can choose between a standard view, pool view or fireworks view, which I thought was really neat. Orlando is such a beautiful city, it was hard to choose which view to choose from!Speaking of pool.. This amazing resort has two! The Relaxation Pool and the Pirates Plunge Pool. We spent most of our time at the Pirates Plunge. The spectacular, zero-entry pool features a Pirate Shipwreck complete with shooting water cannons, a water slide, Jacuzzi-style hot tubs, tumbling waterfalls, poolside loungers and hammocks. The Relaxation Pool allows you to enjoy quiet and relaxation while soaking up some of the famous Florida sunshine. This pool offers poolside loungers and towels. The tropical oasis of palm trees and tropical plants surrounding the pool add to the relaxation. One of my favorite features about our suite can be found in the master bathroom that adjoins the master bedroom. It might sound silly but I’m a sucker for a nice bathtub and have always loved luxurious baths, so, when I saw the jetted tub I knew I had to test it out! I used it about 6 times during our 2 day stay and the kids were in there at least 10 times. The rest of the bathroom was just lovely but the bathtub is what actually sealed the deal for me. Overall, our stay at the Lake Buena Vista Hotel was awesome. It was very clean, very comfortable and an excellent place to lay our heads after a busy day exploring.
