The Turkey Hill Experience is a huge 26,000 square foot building that is filled with nine interactive exhibit areas that allow visitors both young and old to learn more about dairy culture, the story of Turkey Hill Dairy, and how the company’s top-selling ice cream and iced tea flavors are selected and created!
When in the Experience you can experience what it’s like to be a Turkey Hill Dairy ice cream maker for a day, including the opportunity to develop your own ice cream flavor, container and commercial! They even feature a “dairy cam” that allowed us to look inside the factory during real time and see what all the workers were doing!
As you tour through the experinece you are able to stop at different stations to create your ‘dream cream‘! First you make your flavor. You can choose any base ice cream, flavor sauces and any and all additions to go in your cream! As you venture further into the Experience you are also able to make a special container for your ice cream. Then there is a large green screen that allows you or your kids to be in your own commercial talking all about your ‘dream cream‘. A script is provided via teleprompter and then when your commercial is done you can share it with friends and family on Facebook and Twitter!
The ‘dream cream‘ was a bit hard for the younger kids, but there was tons for them to do while us adults made ice cream and unlimited ice cream samples while you are there!
Our kids love Turkey Hill for their ice cream- but Turkey Hill is loved by many people for their drinks. They have teas, fruit drinks, milk and more- there literally is something for every one! Turkey Hill has a ton of different cold drinks and we were able to sample as many as we wanted. I honestly am not a tea drinker, but even I was able to find a Turkey Hill drink that I now call my favorite!
The kid friendly exhibits made it possible for us to hang out at the Turkey Hill Experience for a few hours, if you are looking for a place to go to beat the heat, or just are curious about Turkey Hill history I highly suggest checking out the Experience! Tickets are $9.95 for adults and $7.94 for kids under 17. Children 4 and under are free! The brand new taste lab is an additional $4.00 for everyone that wants to join in on the fun. Looks fun, we have something similar but it is part of a much larger place and they have a petting zoo and a place where you can watch their milking operation
