My kids all love to help me out in the kitchen. They love it so much that they are always under my feet when I am cooking. One mom, six kids, one kitchen equals no room for error! I looked around for a while for a kitchen that would have everything that we needed. It needed to be midsize, nothing to large because we are honestly running out of space in the toy room. I needed enough play area for two or three kids to play next to each other and of course it needed to look authentic!
Step2 sent us their brand new Lifestyle Legacy Kitchen to try out and it fits all the above and more. I expected set up to be hard, it is a kitchen with multi-level counter tops! I got out my handy dandy power drill and went to town- much to my surprise the kitchen was set up in only ten minutes!
The Kitchen features:
-Fun, tasteful color and surface decals
-Kitchen features multi-level counter tops
-Sink & swivel faucet
-Two stove burners with clicking knobs.
-Fun cutting board decal
-2 electronic features include stove and phone
-2 “Woven” storage baskets and 1 recycle basket fit underneath
-Requires 2 “AA” and 2 “AAA” batteries, not included
Plus it comes with an accessory set which includes two full place settings, a five piece serving set, salt & pepper shakers, three bins for storage, coffee pot, phone, pot holder, and a pot and pan with lids!
There is a fridge, microwave, oven and two cabinets! The kids can bake a treat in the oven or make a quick snack in the microwave! They love that their refrigerator has a “water” dispenser just like our real one. The kids were disappointed that the plates could not fit in the top cabinet with out falling out like the picture shows.
The kids favorite feature is that the fry pan and pot make different noises when placed on the burner. This is accomplished by grooved under the pan/pot that hit a special button. I wish the buttons were easier to push with other pots and pans- but right now the kids have enough fun with the two included ones! The only thing missing from this kitchen is a drawer!
I knew that my 2 and 4 year olds would love this. But I ahd no idea that my 9 month and 7 year old would also obsess over this kitchen!! I actually have to pull my 9 month old off of it- or else he beats his siblings with items…
As with all Step2 toys, this is made of super sturdy molded plastic. The screws (and my drill) pulled the kitchen pieces together perfectly and I expect this to last lots of abuse from my kiddos!
The Lifestyle Legacy Kitchen is available exclusively at Toys R Us for $119.99 (RV $129.99)
