Lalaloopsy Coral Sea Shells was once a rag doll who magically came to life when her very last stitch was sewn. Coral Sea Shells was made from pieces of a swimmers bathing suit. She’s super- imaginative and she loves to pretend she’s a real mermaid. Her favorite hobbies are swimming with the fish and eating seaweed salad.
She was sewn on March 22nd, which is World Water Day and she comes with a pet blowfish. All of my kids have a fondness for the Lalaloopsy dolls- even the boys. So when Coral Sea Shells arrived she came straight out of her box and into awaiting hands!

I love that she comes with two outfits so she can be both a ‘girl’ and a ‘mermaid’. It really makes her a dual purpose doll. Carlee loves playing with her in the bathtub and watching her hair turn purple when she is underwater swimming- but she will also play with her in the toy room as a normal girl! Coral Sea Shells also comes with a pet blowfish that can be filled with water, and then squirted all over the place. Bath time is not bath time with out the blowfish anymore!
The only downside to Coral Sea Shells is how hard her clothes are to take off and put on. The mermaid outfit is piratically impossible for even me to get on and off, and I would have liked to see the bathing suit with sleeves instead of a halter tie because Carlee has no idea how to tie a bow yet.
Even though Lalaloopsey’s are made and marketed to little girls, I find that my boys like to play with them just as much!
You can not go wrong with a Lalaloopsey doll- but I must warn you, once you have one- it will be hard not to buy them all!

I remember when La La Loopsy first came out. My sister went bananas for the line! The toys remind me a great deal of the doll-people in the stop-motion animated film, ‘Coraline’. I love that La La Loopsy has expanded to include the baby characters, and fantasy figures, like this mermaid.
