2012 Toyota Camry

Did you know that the Toyota Camry has been the best-selling passenger car in America for 13 of the last 14 years? The new, seventh-generation, 2012 Toyota Camry is a  new design for Toyota both inside and out. There are a few amazing changes, but why mess with perfection? Most of the features of this vehicle, can also be found in the older model Camrys!  The exterior was redesigned with sharper lines and an updated front fascia and rear taillights. Inside, the cabin has been completely redesigned and materials have been upgraded. Plus Toyota’s new Entune infotainment system is available as an option on SE and XLE models.

Something For Everyone

The Camry is perfect for so many groups of families. If you are single or planning on using the Camry as a second vehicle for going to work, you will love the gas mileage the Camry gets. If you are expecting, you will love the safety features the Camry has when you bring your little bundle home. And if you have kids, you will appreciate the fact that even the tallest of moms and dads can sit in the front seats comfortably, with plenty of leg room!

Safety

The Camry is loaded with tons of safety features including Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, 4-wheel Anti-lock Brake System, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist and my favorite feature the Smart Stop Technology. The Smart Stop Technology kicks on when the accelerator is depressed first and the brakes are then applied firmly for longer than one-half second at speeds greater than five miles per hour! The Smart Stop Technology helps the driver bring the vehicle to a complete stop. This is great for when you have a car in front of you slam on their breaks!

If you do happen to have an accident, the Camry has ten airbags, Whiplash-Injury-Lessening seats, an Energy-absorbing collapsible steering column, Front and rear energy-absorbing crumple zones, Side-impact door beams and more!!

Three Car Seats Across

I was easily able to fit three car seats in this vehicle, even with all three rear facing! There was plenty of room to get them all in and even buckle and unbuckle them with out smushed fingers. Myself and my husband, who is 6 feet tall were both able to push the front seats back as far as we needed with out interfering with the seats installation. It was hard to get a picture of all three- but that’s a whole different story!

Miles Per Gallon

The Camry boasts 25 mpg city and 35 mpg highway. During my week long test drive, I averaged 29 miles per gallon, which with ever climbing gas prices, is something I really appreciate.

Entune

The Entune system is a collection of popular mobile applications and data services delivered via most smartphones. Using Bluetooth wireless technology or a USB cable, the features of Entune are operated with the vehicle’s controls or, for some services, by voice recognition. Entune apps include Bing, iHeartRadio, MovieTickets.com, OpenTable and Pandora and other data services.

The vehicle I tested has a price tag of $26,650.00 and comes with features such as Projector-beam halogen headlamps with black sport trim bezels and auto on/off feature, 18-in. alloy wheels, six speakers and Entune, Display Audio with Navigation, Entune, 6.1-in. touch-screen, Power-Adjustable Driver’s Seat and Power tilt/slide moonroof one-touch open/close !

Special thanks to Toyota for letting me test drive the Camry for a week.

I want a Toyota Camry because of all the room and the great reliability of this vehicle. Also I think it gets good gas mileage, and has a lot of trunk room. I like to get a silver one. I would have to save for a while in order to get this car!

  3. When I bought my Toyota Corolla, I really wanted a Camry. But my budget went with the Corolla and I kept it for 20 years. Love Toyota products.

Thanks Skye for the impressive Camry vehicle review! I did read some of your other reviews of SUV’s, minivans, e.t.c., and of course, they’d be great to have also, but we don’t need that much room and many are out of our income bracket! You are correct in your statement regarding the popularity of the Camry for the past several years! They are a very dependable vehicle. I have friends that would not want to drive anything else. You mention all the great safety features which I think are the most important besides gas mileage. Especially when you have little passengers that ride with you!
