Instant Pot Spaghetti

My second meal ever in my Instant Pot was spaghetti. I was nervous as heck. Worried that the noodles would come out under cooked or that it would taste starchy. But it didn’t. It turned out delicious and I only dirtied one pot. I’m pretty sure will be the only way I will make spaghetti from this point forward.

Ingredients:

  • 2.25lbs of 93% ground beef
  • 1 box Pasta
  • 28oz can Hunt’s Diced Tomatoes
  • 28oz water
  • Seasoning Salt & Pepper to taste

Put your Instant Pot on Saute. Place hamburger in pot, along with pepper and some seasoning salt. Cook till brown, then drain fat.12388053_10207205958461527_1071288393_nAdd both cans of tomatoes, pasta and a can of water. Mix well.12366887_10207205958701533_752839324_nPut Instant Pot on low pressure for half of the lowest time on your box of pasta (if box says 6-8 minutes you do 3) then quick release. It’s that simple and was oh so delicious! If you notice your spaghetti still has too much liquid, simply push saute and keep stirring till the liquid is gone.702841_10207205958581530_992045265_n

When you said “Put Instant Pot on low pressure for 3 minutes” do you mean on Manual for 3 minutes??

  2. Oh delicious!! Mine had a bit of left over water, so I sauteed for an extra few minutes and it was perfect.

  3. Fred e. Freed says:

I followed the recipe closely but not exactly. I browned one lb. of ground meat then sauteed half a large onion and a tbsp. of minced garlic. I added one quart of my home canned sauce one jar of water one can of tomato paste a few chopped home canned Hungarian pepper slices tbsp Italian seasoning a pinch of thyme tsp of salt 1/4 tsp pepper, and 1lb box of rigatoni noodles. Set the instant pot for low pressure for 5 min. which was half of the box instructions. The noodles were not done at that time so I cooked amn additional 3 min. Still not done cooked another 3min. And the dish was perfect. So total time from start to finish and on the table was a maximum of 20 min. 5 min browning meat and onions and 11 min cooking mixture in the instant pot. It would take that long to bring a pan of water to boil to cook the noodles. Very handy for a busy week night meal. Toasted some hard rolls and grated cheese very good
