Being a blogger and social media nut means that at all times there is an electronic device with in reach. No matter where I go, or what I am doing I must be connected so that with in a moments notice I can answer emails, snap pictures, or start a blog post. I use my laptop all the time when we are home because I like not being tied to a desk. I find sitting on my couch, with my feet propped up watching True Blood while I blog to be rather- relaxing. However when I travel, the last thing I want to have to carry around with me is a heavy laptop. A tablet is the perfect size for travel, however I often get frustrated with my tablet because it does not have the functions I am used to my laptop having, like keyboard, speed, battery life and real power- Until now… The ASUS Transformer Book is the best of both worlds, combining the light weight portability of a tablet with the productivity of a laptop. At just 2.5 lbs, it’s perfect for travel and mimics a laptop because it runs on a fully functioning Windows 8.1! Oh and did I mention it comes with full versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote? If you need something even lighter you can detach the 10.1-inch beautiful touchscreen from the keyboard and it becomes a 1.2 lb tablet – among the lightest in the industry. Now there is no need to choose between a laptop and a tablet because this really gives you both!
What I Love:
Power: Powered by the new Intel Atom Bay Trail-T Z3740 quad-core processor, this baby is fast. I more often than not, have two or three things I am doing at once and with the Transformer having multiple programs running at the same time I get no lag at all.
Lasting Battery: Even though it’s fast, it lasts. Thanks to the exclusive ASUS Super Hybrid Engine II power management system, the Transformer provides an amazing 11 hours of battery power. I find myself reaching for the power cord less and less because of this, which again, is great when traveling or trying to keep up with busy kiddos.
Storage: The tablet has 64GB SSD storage an there is an extra 500 GB of Hard Drive space in the dock. It includes a microSD card slot, a USB 3.0 slot and a micro-HDMI port so you can connect to a full HD TV and watch your favorite shows on the big screen.
Protection: Accidents happen and with small kids in my house they happen often. Most manufacturer’s offer a standard one year warranty that covers parts and labor for defective hardware, however ASUS now offers one year of Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) against things like liquid spills, electrical surges, and drops. It’s nice to tote this around and not be worried about setting it down to hard or accidentally spilling my drink on it. Buy It: You can purchase an ASUS Transformer Book for $449.99!
