Combi Coccoro Car Seat

Disclosure: The Coccoro in the feature below was sent compliments of Combi!

If you have a smaller car and multiple kids in car seats you know how tricky getting your kids in and out of the car can be. Installing seats is a whole other problem in itself. Being a CPST means I talk with people often about different types of car seats. The very problem aboved is one that many people have. Every time I talked to anyone about a small car seat made just for compact cars the Combi Coccoro was mentioned.

The lightweight and compact Coccoro convertible car seat is compatible with smaller vehicles. Three Coccoro seats can be installed in the rear-seat of vehicles such as the Toyota Corolla. A 5-point harness with padding, Tru-Safe®Buckle, forward and rear-facing lock-offs, energy absorbing EPS foam and 4 position height adjustments make for a safe and comfortable environment for your child. An adjustable infant insert can be positioned to the recommended 45 degree angle for your newborn. The single-pull adjustable harness system, shoulder belt retainers and washable seat cushion add convenience.

IMG_7740The Coccoro seat is the most compact seat I have ever seen. It is safe, small and comes in some pretty stellar colors. Combi even promises you can fit three seats across. The price of the seat is amazing (150-200.00) and can be used to bring baby home from the hospital. Your child can be rear facing from 5-33lbs (my 2.5 year old is only 28lbs) and forward facing from 20-40lbs and will sit a child 40 inches or less. Plus the seat only weight 11.75lbs which is one of my favorite features.  Did you know that the Combi Coccoro seat is approved to be used on airplanes as well? This seat is one of the most popular of the FAA approved car seats on the market, because it is so small and lightweight.

This seats fits perfectly into the back seat of my Corolla- and really does only take up one seat space. The bottom buckle has a  fabric overlay underneath- between the snap and the baby’s legs which means there is no chance that myself, or dad can pinch any kids chunky legs in the buckle. Installation is a breeze and if I need to take a seat out for an adult to sit in the back, this is the one I reach for first because it is super easy to pull out and in.

IMG_7733The harness itself requires a bit of getting used to. The crotch buckle is a puzzle piece buckle. You put the two buckles together, then click them into the crotch buckle slots. There is a window on the buckle that turns green when it is connected properly.
