Disclosure: This post brought to you by HoneyBaked Ham!
Easter celebrations are always a big event at my house. However this year I am as round as a turkey with my big old pregnant belly and we have a small kitchen issue! In September we bought an RV. We plan to spend every single weekend from April-October in the RV, however the kitchen is… well… look for yourself!
Small and tiny are the first two things that pop into my mind- how about yours? I needed to find a way to cook an entire Easter dinner in the RV and still have all the yummy food my family expects with out spending hours in the teny tiny kitchen- Enter HoneyBaked Ham! We visited the Mechanicsburg HoneyBaked Ham store and found every single thing we needed for the perfect Easter dinner for us.
Easter dinner every year always costs about $100.00 for our large family of seven. I assumed before walking into the HoneyBaked Ham store that I would be spending much more than that for convenience- however I got everything I needed for under $75.00 and had tons of left overs that we ate for days after our early Easter dinner.
I used the following limited time offers:
- $54.99 Easter Ham & Turkey Combo – Pair a Turkey Breast with a Boneless Ham.
- $19.99 for three Heat & Share Sides
The Boneless ham was literally the most delicious ham I have ever had! It was slow-roasted and smoked, then glazed by hand with the signature, sweet, crunchy glaze! I am not a ham person, but I ate way more ham than turkey. Did I mention it was completely pre sliced?
The moist, tender Turkey Breast was coated with the same sweet, crunchy glaze as HoneyBaked’s signature Ham.
I was really impressed by the selection of Heat & Serve sides- they had 12 different options! We choose Broccoli Rice Casserole, Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Macaroni & Cheese. They easily were warmed up by tossing them in the microwave!
Ok so you maybe wondering ‘Great you have all this food, but how the heck did you cook it in that super tiny kitchen?’ Welll… The ham and the turkey are both fully cooked, all you have to do is leave them out on the counter for a few minutes so they are room temperature.
We picked up our food on Friday night and stuck the meat in the fridge and the sides in the freezer. Each side needs to be heated in microwave for 10 minutes, removed and stirred and then heated again for 5 minutes. So I took everything out Saturday morning and set it on the counter. I cooked each side for 10 minutes in the microwave and then each for five minutes! Everything was done with in 10 minutes of each other which worked out perfectly because the mac and cheese and rice needed a few extra minutes to thicken!
Easter dinner in our RV was a complete success! The kids chowed down like it was nobodys business and I have been eating leftover ham every day since our dinner. The ham was so delicious and the entire meal so affordable that I now fully plan to visit my local HoneyBaked Ham store every single time I need a to cook a large meal!
