To say we kept busy while in the Florida Keys would be an understatement. I was originally worried that there would not be many kid friendly activities in the Keys for us to do with young children, but I was way wrong. We did so many amazing thing. We saw so many amazing places. And we left with memories that will last forever. If your headed to the Keys any time soon, here are a few of our favorite memories all experienced with an 18 month old, a 4 year old, a 6 year old and an 8 year old.
Feeding the Nurse Sharks at the Key West Aquarium. We all got to take a turn. The kids tell all their friends that they got to feed a shark.Feeding the Tarpon at Robbies. This is an experience that is hard to describe. It is a total rush. The kids did not feed the Tarpons, but they really enjoyed watching.Learning (and getting to touch) all about Dolphins at the Dolphin Research Center.Getting to hold a starfish at the Key West Aquarium. Stepping into a room filled with thousands of butterflies at the Key West Butterfly Conservatory.
Watching turtle eye surgery at the Turtle Hospital.Taking a picture at the Southernmost point, this is a total tourist trap, but my kids loved it!Trying SNUBA with the amazing guys from Dive Duck Key. This is a cross between snorkeling and scuba diving, with no certification needed.Watching the sun set aboard a sailboat on a sunset cruise. There is nothing like a sunset on a boat, nothing.Finding the worlds tallest man at the Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Center.Getting to touch a Sea Cucumber at the Key West Aquarium.
I don’t think I will be heading there anytime soon but sure would love to. Looks like great family fun!
