Joovy Moon Room

Our family keeps getting bigger and bigger and floor space keeps getting smaller and smaller! Right now I need a solution that gives Emmitt a safe place to play, with out him feeling like he is in a small cell being punished. The Joovy Moon Room is the solution to our problem. It is a uniquely shaped play yard that gives Emmitt a safe place to play (or nap) while conserving much needed floor space.

Play yards are not new to Joovy at all! They have the Joovy Room, the Joovy Room², the Joovy Room² Ultralight- but the Moon Room is a total shape change for Joovy! It comes in three beautiful colors- black, charcoal and purple.

Set up is super easy! Unzip the travel case and remove the floor mat from around the actual yard. Open the yard up and click all four wall pieces into place. Then push down on the center and place the floor mat inside. The floor has velcro straps that secure it to the bottom of the play yard so there is no chance of the mat bunching up. The floor mat is an odd shape so a normal sheet will not fit on it, however Joovy included a 100% cotton, thick, luxurious white sheet. Additional ones are available but they are 39.99 each, ouch!

I’m rather impressed with the Moon Room. The unique shape gives Emmitt ten feet of space to move around in and the shape is just way cool! Playing and sleeping inside the Moon Room is easy to do with all the room and the eight mesh sides keep airflow up for little ones that sweat when they sleep and allow them to see the world around them.

Folding the Moon Room takes a bit of muscle. Unvelcro the mat from the bottom of the play yard. Then pull up on the center to unlock the walls (for me, all 5 feet three inches of me- this is the hardest part). Push each side wall and pull up. Each wall will collapse. Then wrap the yard back up in the mat and place back around the yard!

The travel bag allows the Moon Room to be carried two different ways. The two large duffle bag straps allow it to be slung over a shoulder or used like a back pack, or you can pull the main handle strap out and carry like a suitcase. If you are looking for a play yard to travel frequently I recommend the Joovy Room² Ultralight, which is just 21lbs. The Moon Room could travel with you but at 27lbs it is something you may want to have dad lug around!
