Keep Your Child Warm & Safe In The Car With The Cozy Woggle

I know it’s still summer, so the last thing you are thinking about is putting your little one in a jacket, but I also feel like it’s never too early to start planning how to keep your child safer this winter!

One of the biggest mistakes I see all the time on Facebook is kids in huge bulky coats buckled into their car seats. This is so so so dangerous. When a child is wearing a thick coat, it’s hard to tell if you have a good harness fit, which is crucial. A thick coat can add a lot of slack, reducing the level of protection for your child in a crash. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recommends that to keep your child the safest, you should always remove bulky clothing before you place the child into their car seat. You can then place the coat over child.923077_279016188900028_2137958807_nIf you live in a state where winters are cold- you know that wearing a winter coat is really not optional. However I know from experience what a pain in the rear it is to put a child into a coat to walk out to the car, take it off, buckle child in and then have to put it back on when you stop somewhere. Thankfully there is a nifty invention called the Cozy Woggle!64155_279015902233390_581144207_nThe Cozywoggle is an innovative, new coat that’s safe for children to wear in car seats. It looks and functions like a traditional coat, but the side seams unzip so that it fits the child like a poncho while in the car seat. Then you zip it up and go after the car ride. Normal coats are harmful in the event of a car accident because they often compress, leaving the car seat’s harness loose and increasing the child’s risk of ejection from the car seat. The Cozywoggle has undergone crash testing at a lab and was proven safe in both forward-facing and rear-facing car seats.379807_279016298900017_970859040_nThe Cozywoggle serves as a “regular” coat. Children can wear it in the car seat, to and from the car and while running around town. You don’t have to carry around any extra jackets or blankets to keep your children warm and safe. It’s an all-in-one solution, meaning busy parents have fewer items to juggle. All Cozy Woggles are wind and water resistant. They come in red, navy blue, pink, and purple and are available sizes are 12 mo. – 6.

What a great product! I’m going to look into ordering one for my granddaughter and for my grandson! Thanks for the great review!

It’s a great idea, but to me, I’m cheap or frugal as my father would say, and even the introductory price is kinda steep for a coat they will one get one season of wear out of. I guess I will just have to stick with layering a thin jacket under their fleece ponchos.

  3. These look so cute and useful! Definitely will be considering buying them for Christmas.
