Kolcraft Tiny Steps 2-in-1 Walker

Disclosure: The walker in the feature below was sent compliments of Kolcraft.

Being a mom to a chatty toddler and an active baby, taking care of the house, making meals, and also running my own business, often with my kids around, can be quite the juggling act.  The Kolcraft Tiny Steps 2-in-1 walker arrived at our door a few weeks ago, and has been a lifesaver ever since.

kolcraft__002Our little Olive is 5 1/2 months old, but barely seems like a little baby anymore.  She entered a new stage about a month ago, where she is not content doing a single thing for very long.    Hourly, I would go through the rotation of baby gear to keep her entertained-the play gym, the bumbo, the bouncer, and swing.  Thankfully, this walker has become the new favorite toy, and can keep her occupied for a half hour or more at at time!

kolcraft__001The Tiny Steps 2-in-1 Walker grows with your baby from an entertaining exersaucer, while sitting still, to an activity walker, then to a walk-behind walker as your baby learns to take those first steps.  It promotes interactive learning and fun, with toys that spin, music that plays, and even two teething toys.  Olive was just 5 months old when we got the walker, but even though the product says 6 months and up, she can easily use it, with the help of a book on the floor to help her feet reach. =)  I love the idea of this product growing with her and the stages she’ll be in, from 5 months to 12 months!

The initial setup of the product as an activity walker was very easy, right out of the box.  My husband and I did find transitioning it into the walk-behind walker a bit tricky to figure out, but fairly easy to go back and forth between the two once we got the hang of it.  The most frustrating feature has to be the battery compartment, which was quite the challenge to get open.  It’s safety features do however keep the batteries out of reach from the baby and impossible for even an older child to get open.kolcraft__003My favorite feature of the Tiny Steps 2-in-1 Walker is the fold away storage feature.  With one quick click and fold, the tray and seat fold down into the base, and it becomes pretty compact.  Baby gear can easily take over any home, so this is a wonderful feature, allowing us to move it from room to room, or slide the walker, when unused, under a table, behind a couch, or in a closet.

Other features I love include:

  • The adjustable height of the seat that allows baby to touch their toes to the floor around six months and have many months to enjoy the walker without outgrowing it.
  • The music is entertaining and not too annoying, with the volume adjustable.
  • Product is light enough to pick up and carry but sturdy, keeping baby safely secured without tipping.
  • The tray has plenty of space to set additional favorite toys on it for baby to pick up (we often set her favorite teething toy there, as well as clip some rings on for her to grab).  It also has a cup holder, where we currently place her pacifier.

kolcraft__004I would recommend the Tiny Steps 2-in-1 walker to any family looking for a reasonably priced, grow-with-your-child, activity exersaucer and walker.
