Rainbow Cake In A Jar
Prep Time: 35 minutes
Cook Time: 45 minutes
Total Time: 80 minutes
10 Jars of cake
Ingredients
2 Boxes of white cake mix
10 Canning Jars with pop lids
food coloring
Instructions-
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Prepare 2 boxes of white cake mix according to directions.
Seperate cake mix into 6-8 bowls.
Mix food coloring into each to make different colors.
Spray jars with cooking spray.
Evenly distribute colored cake mix into each jar.
Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
Remove from oven and while still hot cut off any cake that has over flowed from lid.
While still hot put lid on a tighten. For the jars to seal themselves, the jars must still be hot when you put the lid on. Within 10 minutes of capping the jars, you’ll hear popping. This is when the heat from the jars cause a vacuum making the jars airtight.
So do you have to put them in the fridge or is that a pantry shelf life of one year? I think I know what I am going to be making for holiday gifts this year! Sure beats the fruit cake 🙂
Shelf life 🙂
Lots of times army wives make this and send them over seas!!
