simplehuman sensor pump

We updated our half bathroom recently but after finishing I felt like I was missing a few key things. I had one of those plastic mall store soap pump dispensers but it just did not fit with the updated look of our new bathroom!

I stumbled upon simplehuman looking for a quality trash can and found that they also make sensor soap pumps! I knew that it would be the perfect finishing touch to our updated bathroom!

The latest refinement of the simplehuman sensor pump features a silicone valve to prevent drips and clogs. The high-efficiency pump mechanism provides quick and precise dispensing and is much more quiet than any other auto soap dispenser I have ever used.

Our simplehuman sensor pump arrived quickly and well packaged. All I had to do for set up was put 4 AA batteries in the bottom and dump the soap in. I love that it came with a packet of soap- but I wish instead it came with a smaller sample of each type of soap simplehuman carries so I knew which one I would like the best. After the easy set up I was ready to get clean!

I love with kids that the simplehuman sensor pump comes with the Simple Promise 2 year warranty! Because hey with kids- stuff happens! If your product becomes defective during the warranty period they will provide replacement parts for your product at no charge. If there is no part, and the product is under warranty, they provide a prepaid return label and arrange a repair, then return the product back to you!

Speaking of kids- my kids love this thing! They think it is literally the coolest thing since sliced bread. They actually like it a bit too much and I find them playing with it quite often- thank goodness for that warranty! This pump is definitely kid approved!

The pump is really easy to fill. Just pop off the top and add a soap refill pack to the extra wide opening! Easy peasy! The pack that came with our pump we have been using for three weeks (a family with 7 hand washers, and Christmas company) and we are a bit more than half way through. I expect the single pack will last us for about 6 weeks. Before the pump I was spending 5.50 every two weeks or so for a soap from a bath store in the mall. A refill through simplehuman for the sensor pump costs 6.99, so saves us quite a bit in the long run.

I love that no one has to touch it to get it to work. It is brushed nickel, so if it gets touched it looks dirty. But because of the sensor no one has to touch it to get it to work. I find myself often running from the kitchen to the bathroom to use this soap instead of dirtying  or getting icky chicken on my kitchen pump (maybe I need a second one for my kitchen!)

My favorite feature has to be the buttons controls on top. They are a simple + and – sign that allows you to change  how much soap to dispense! I love that I can adjust this because depending on where the pump is a different amount of soap is needed. If I wanted to put it in the kids bathroom, I would turn it all way way down. The kitchen I would turn it all the way up. In our half bathroom that is used by both adults and kids we keep it set in the middle. I am extremely satisfied with the ease of use of these buttons as this is the first sensor pump I have owned that allows you to change the amount.

If you are looking for a high quality accent to spruce up your bathroom or kitchen space then you just cant go wrong with the simplehuman sensor pump. Your investment will be earned back in less than a year just with the soap you save buying weekly! Plus it is a pretty interesting conversation piece with it’s beautiful brushed nickel appearance!

  2. Sabrina Radke says

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this! Great for kids or when you are holding a kid and helping them learn to wash their hands! I love how big it is and how it holds so much soap too!

  3. I had/reviewed a super human sensor pump a few years ago when they first introduced them. It was black and I used it in my kitchen. Loved it for the time it worked; when it stopped working after more than a year I couldn’t figure out why, but I would get another one. I like the design of the one you have. That would look great in my kitchen. 🙂

  4. I always lust after their garbage cans when I’m at the store so I’m not surprised that their soap dispenser is cool, too! :)I’d love this for my son’s bathroom- he gets soap everywhere since he’s just starting to wash his hands by himself & he gets soap ON the soap dispenser all the time!

  5. Johanna @ Mama Chocolate says

I would love to have something like this in my kitchen…I hate coming to the sink with hands that are messy from raw meat or something and having to handle the soap container. 😛

  6. Hmmmm I’d have to go with my kitchen. It’s where we always are! I think my boys would use it a lot, too! I love how easy it seems to be to use!

  7. My parents have one and really like it. I would worry about the kids playing with it because that is how my boys are!

  8. I really want one of these for our house! I love how sleek and stylish it looks, plus it’s perfect or the kids!

  9. This is a great idea and I would use it on our main bathroom. I think this would be a hit in the kitchen, too!

  10. I have this exact model, great yes but mine outputs a ridiculous amount of soap…seriously wasteful amount. It basically fills the palm of my hand with one trip of the sensor. At this rate i’ll have to buy soap every week. has anyone else had this issue?

  11. uh nevermind I think I just figured it out. They say there’s suppose to be a “settings” button. oops.

I would love to have this in the bathroom. I could totally see my kids washing their hands (and using soap) without me having to remind them after bathrooming. The look of it is sleek and will easily blend in with the rest of the bathroom decor.

    Thanks for the review!

  13. Deb Dorrington says

I would love to have one in the kitchen, I am constantly washing my hands while I cook as I cannot stand anything on my The styling is really nice so it would also look great in the main bathroom also.

  14. Peggy Bolling says

This is really a great idea! you can’t go wrong with sanitation

  15. I first used this ar a house that belonged to a family I babysat for. It took a little getting used to. I’m not sure that I would want to have one installed in my own home. But, I must admit, it does do a good job of smoothly dispensing liquid soap.
