Do you have a little builder who loves to work with their hands? Then the Step2 Home Depot Master Workshop, a Toys’R’Us exclusive may be the perfect toy for your house! This deluxe workbench is perfect for the mini maste6r carpenter in your home and features a large work surface that includes screw holes and recesses for nut and screw storage. The unique and realistic-looking “wood” foam project pieces are made from indestructible Durafoam which allows children to build creations while using their imagination. There are plenty of places to stick tools and screws with a color coordinating parts bin and hanging jars. The 60-piece accessory set includes an electric chop saw and drill press that has a task light over the pegboard
The The Home Depot Master Workshop features:
- 60 piece accessory set!
- Electronic chop saw & drill press
- Task light over pegboard
- Clear jars & bins for storage
- Deep utility sink for more storage
- Realistic “wood” foam project pieces
The power drill and saw both make noise and add to the ‘realness’ of the workshop. The kids drill through the holes of the foam wood and ‘saw’ the pieces in half for what seems like hours sometimes!
The peg board provides storage for all the included tools. You can position the pegs up higher for older kids, or down lower for younger kids! There are plenty of drawers, doors and storage containers to store pieces in- but I would have liked to see a toolbox come with it! The kids have a hard time keeping all the pieces with the workshop and sometimes spend more time looking for missing pieces than actually playing.
The only thing that disappointed us with the Master Carpenter Workshop was the “indestructible” Durafoam. It is defiantly not indestructible. It took my 18 month old less than 2 minutes to bite through one and I find more and more each day with bite marks or missing pieces.
Buy It: You can purchase the Step2: Master Carpenter Workshop from Toys R Us for 179.99.
I have this and my boys love it. Many hours of fun and great teaching tool
my boys would love this they love building stuff so this would be right up their alley 🙂
Nice! My youngest grandDAUGHTER would actually love this! lol She loves fixing things.
Oh this is so cute! I might be putting this on my kids Christmas list this year!
This would be super fun to have along side daddy’s tools out in the shop for little boys! That’s a pretty cool set!
It looks like fun, but whoa…that is a lot of batteries. And boo on the destructible “indestructible foam” pieces. I still think the kids would like it, though.
Oh that looks like it would be fun for any young children to play with. I like items that it doesn’t take that long to put it together compare to stuff took me a long time or never truthfully finish putting together. I like how all the items has a spot for all the items.
Eek! My little boy would freak over this! It puts his tiny one to shame. I need to put this on his wish list!!
My boys would love this. They would be just like daddy when he fixes or builds things. Step 2 makes such nice long lasting toys.
i think we may have had one when my brother was little this is amazing!
This is adorable! My little guy (and his dad) would love it.
This looks so cool. Its better than what my husband has in his garage!
Step2 has so many amazing and fun products. They have ones to have kids role play and outside toys plus they have some great furniture/organization ideas. This looks like your whole family will be having fun with this workshop. I’m sure your “carpenter” will do many great projects! : )

I had somehting like this for my son when he was smaller. It was made of a harder plastic. Once he outgrew it, I took it to use in my classroom and it lasted for years. Sorry the foam didn’t work out.

This is adorable! Now little ones can create projects and fix items just like daddy!

This looks so awesome. My girls would love this. We live next door to my parents; my dad worked for years as a cabinet installer, and he has a whole shop in the backyard full of real tools that my daughters are always begging to “play” with.
Oh my son would love this. I love that it has so much play potential! It won’t ever get boring.
Zayne would have a BLAST with this! And I’m sure Jadie would too!
this is so neat. the one I had for my son before was a lot smaller than this one. This is about the same as dad’s workshop in the garage , including a sink. The boys will absolutely love it. Everything is the same as dads and they can work together . They can learn what each tool is used for and how to take care of their tools . what child would’nt want one of these
Great for boys to play shop!
This is amazing! My son would have loved this when he was younger.
All I can say is WOW!!!! This is the most impressive “toy” I have seen in a very long time. The detail and all the tools on here would make any little boy very, very happy.
my boys would love this
That is so cool! I’ve always wanted a tool bench for myself, so I would actually love this for my daughter:)
Super awesome! And you know it is built to last, Step 2 is amazing!
This is the best carpenter workshop I have seen! Kids would build and play with this for hours and no details were left out when it was designed. I love it.
This looks like such a great toy to have around-perfect for little hands and a great teaching tool too!
This would be so perfect for my grandson. His dad is quite a handyman, so he’d love to ‘work’ alongside him.
My daughter would love this! She loves to go out in the garage and work with Poppa.
i have a little girl but she would have a blast, always trys to get in her daddys toolbag lol
This is AWESOME that’s all I know to say, my grandson would love this. It looks so real.

This is TOO COOL!! My son got a Step2 kitchen for Christmas, and he LOVES it! In fact, the first thing he does every morning is head downstairs and make me some “coffee”. (I’ve taught him well!) He would LOVE this tool bench for his “projects”…and maybe the dog wouldn’t be used as a workbench as often! 🙂
