The Tommee Tippee Explora cup range is progressively staged to help children transition through all their drinking phases and needs with specific grips to fit little fingers and unique spouts to meet the needs of every age and support natural oral development.
The Truly Spill Proof cups are unlike any other valve system on the market. The active sensor valve is designed by a physicist to be sensitive enough that liquid flows on demand, yet truly spill and leak proof and BPA and Phthalate free!
Does it leak? Not a chance. Tommee Tippee has the valve, and leak proofness down to a science. Just for poos and giggles I even dropped this off our second story deck. The cup stayed intact and there was not a drop of water on the black blanket I dropped it on! However this cup will leak if the valve is not installed correctly!
Does it keep the drink cold? This cup is not insulated so only keeps drinks cold for about an hour.
Does it fit in a cup holder/my child’s hands? The cup is super easy for my one year old to tote around with him- but it does not fit into cup holders because of the handles.
How many pieces to make the cup work? Hard or soft top? There are four pieces to this cup- the lid, actual cup and two piece valve. The spout is soft however my kids are so focused on opening and closing the lid- they don’t chew these cups at all.
Mom’s favorite feature? I love that this cup can be used starting at 6 months. For parents looking to bypass bottle usage this is great, your child can go from nursing only- to this cup!
Does my child like it? There honestly isn’t anything done to this cup to attract kids. No special effects, no cartoon characters- yet every time any of my kids use this cup they spend more time playing with the lid then drinking! A sippy cup and entertainment? Fine by this mom!
How much are they? The Tommee Tippee Explora Truly Spill Proof Trainer Cup is sold at various retailers. Every store I saw them at had them listed for 7.99!
- Babies R Us- $7.99
- Target- $7.99
Any downsides? The four pieces sometimes get misplaced, especially the valves. Thankfully I found replacement valves for 3.99 at Babies R Us and to be honest we use sippy cups so often in our house it is good to change the valves occasionally.
Specs: Cup is dishwasher and microwave save. Best use is for kids 6+ months. Cup holds 9oz.
We are big Tommee Tippee lovers in this house! I only wish I had known about them from the start. They are awesome! And while I don’t LOVE that there are two parts to the valves, it’s worth it to have a cup that truly doesn’t leak.
I have never used any Tommee Tippee brands. They sound like great products; no leaks and kids are entertained by the the lids. The only problem I see when reading this is that the price is much more than the average cost for a sippy cup. What makes this brand more expensive than others?
Never used this one before but will be buying for sure a cup that can take a two storie fall. Heck yes my kind of cup. Thanks, just what I needed…
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Tommee Tippee! Just an fyi if you drop any of their sippy cups hard enough the 2 part valve system can pop out a little bit and cause leaking. I have tried almost ALL sippy cups out there and truly love Tommee Tippee the best.
